Hey I'm new here bought my white an advance TLX last month and she is looking to make it look a little different! She's wanting to lightly smoke the tail lights, wrap the roof black, paint the 18" wheels gloss black, and black out the rear A and TLX emblems. Has anybody here done any of these things to your cars?

Idk, a white car with a dark theme can pull it off imo. Plus it's not our car :P

If it floats you boat go for it, but Justin was just giving his opinion and I agree.
Maybe a civic accord etc... but a new Acura TLX smoked tails, no (again my opinion)

I wouldn't say "we are all guilty of it". I personally have never done an exterior or engine modification to a car, not when I was in High School and never since. It simply isn't my thing. Though I do agree, if you like the idea then go for it! And be sure to post some pics!

if he was looking for instructions, one could simply google or youtube on how to cheapen ones car.


the white and black theme is VERY easy to do.
Do something different.

white and grey
white and bronze.
white on gunmetal.
white on white

all these options are better than white on black.

I'm no reference when it comes to color matching/contrasting. My girlfriend is my resource for that. But white on white? I don't think an argument can be made for that xD

I'm just some guy though, for all I know I could be totally wrong.

I'm not a fan of blacked out tails by any means, I wouldn't want that on my car. Black wheels, black grills and even black tops are all in good taste IMO.

I think the guy mentionned his wife, if she says it's cool, I'd say it's cool. Were just a bunch of guys, who are we to judge? :P
