considering used TLX
A local Acura dealer has a used TLX SH-AWD Tech package, under 3k miles, Acura Certified for 35.9k. Given all the deals on the new one etc, is this considered a good deal? I am looking to see the car today and perhaps do a deal?

Im sure you can get a new one for the same price. Worse case is a few hundred more. Interest rate on the new one is also better. They have .9 apr going on right now. You might spend a little bit more on the car but save lots on interest. 6k off msrp is doable.

Just to give you an idea, I m negotiating a possible buy that I have to do later in the month. I got an offer for SHAWD with advanced package for 37490 including grad rebate. Thats a new one I got that from internet department.

The CPO will have a much better warranty if you plan to keep it for a while.

CPO programs extends powertrain warranty from 70,000 miles to 100,000 miles.
Bumper to bumper warranty gets extended an additional 12,000 miles of coverage from the basic (new) 4 years or 50,000 miles. Whichever comes first. For a total of 62,000 miles - Basic.
Keep in mind the depreciation for the top models is higher than a middle trim or base models. I can only assume that the reason behind it is technology is moving fast for auto cars, and it becomes dated after a few years. Acura's do hold their value well so paying an additional 5-7k for a new one just for a lesser interest rate and term loan are not worth it. You don't have to use Acura Financial, and consider going to a Credit Union to get a close enough or exact low rate through pre-approval.
CPO model has already seen its depreciation so it would be wise to do CPO route for your purchase.
kchemist, was the price you typed, OTD? That seems low for a 42k msrp new TLX. I understand dealers won't sell at that price, but nearly a 5k difference is huge.

Wow, I never knew. I am not in the market so I wouldn't know that they are offering great discounts on new '15's.
I have read many auto buying tips/ strategies and forums for leasing or buying new cars. And the Used vs. New debate, so I would just use those tools to go with a pre-owned still new car, but avoid the high msrp's and possible lack of huge discounts or negotiating.
But if Acura is offering those discounts, then OP should go with the new car through Acura Financial.

Thank you for all the information. I actually ended up getting a brand new TLX - AWD TECH for $36.7 and that included the wheels lock, mug guard and the spare tire kit.
Give that the other dealer was trying to sell me a used TLX for 35.9 and wasn't budging on the price, I am very excited that I was able to pull a good deal on the brand new one.
I have already checked the curry acura care warranty and 8 year/120k miles can be had for 1630 which isn't that bad of a deal in my opinion.
Thanks!

I just received an e-mail from the Acura dealer nearest me advertising a CPO 2015 TLX FWD Tech V6 with 1,700 miles on it for $32,900. Graphite/Graystone. I thought that was a pretty good price. 0.9% APR also. $598 doc fee, $74 tag fee plus 3% sales tax for NC residents.
