I want to get some better sound from 2015 TLX. Do I take it to my friend at the exahaust shop and have pipes welded in place of the resonators? Do I put in a set of Borla or Magnaflow mufflers or resonators? Don't want to spend a bundle, would like to just have my car sound like a nice v6 (think a v6 Camaro, the new RS sounds awesome) ...

 

There's some guy on YouTube who straight pipes his TLX v6. Just search and see if you like it.

RV6 is a brand that makes exhaust for our TLX. Otherwise I think the market is kinda small for our cars.

 

Experimenting with exhaust is just that...EXPERIMENTING.
you will have to experiment with what each pipe does....
meaning; take it to your buddy and have him chop up and weld whatever your initial plans are...
if you dont like the sound it produces...get it back on the lift and cut and weld more shit.


your car will never sound like a camaro due to the different engine architecture.. different cylinder firing sequence and how the engineers tuned the sound with mufflers and resonators.

If you have no plans to experiment with exhaust pieces and the sound each variable produces, perhaps leaving it alone would be for the best
