Passed a car carrier with a load of what I assume were 2016 TLX vehicles.

I noticed what was on the left rear trunk lid....the word "ACURA".

Left hand was ACURA
Middle was the Acura Logo
Right side is TLX

 

Hmmm... they removed the "ACURA" from the trunk of all their cars not long ago. I'm fine with the way it is. Didn't expect it to make a return. Maybe that was an old car being transported?

 

Probably a CDM-spec TLX on its way to China...

 

Rocket man: nope. Like I said, it was a truckload of new TLX, not 1 old one.

From the pic, perhaps it is a CDM car. What it would be in So Cal, not sure, although t was heading north on the 101 freeway. I know many cars come into So Cal at Port Hueneme, so maybe these are leaving.

Personally, I don't like the ACURA lettering.

 

At least now the rear badging is symmetrical! Except for those of us with the sh-awd badge on the bottom right!

 

Maybe Acura research showed that when people saw the TLX, they didn't know who made the car. Even with the Acura logo.




This could be a double edged sword though. It could help with TLX sales, but when people see the ILX (and RLX), they'll know who made the and will steer clear of Acura.

 

Cost cutting and realizing that they shot themselves in the foot with marketing by removing their name and exhaust tips.

 

btw, I suspect the starbucks red cups were the product of cost cutting. company saved MILLIONS not printing christmas art.

 

my mexican acura has the Acura name badge and the acura logo.

 

Indeed it does! On the MX website they even photoshop the Acura logo on

 

My two week old 2016 TLX does NOT have the ACURA logo on the trunk lid. Purchased in the U.S.

 

Canadian ones don't have it either. I wonder why some regions have it and some don't? When did they ditch the lettering? I had it on my 07.
