2015 Acura TLX - Where to buy extended warranty?
Hi everyone. I have a 2015 Acura TLX with 55, 664 miles. I did not buy the extended warranty at the dealership at the time of purchase. I am wanting to buy one now, but would like to know if anyone else in Florida has purchased one and had great service or pricing. I have a quote from CARCHEX which is quite high. Best prices I saw direct from Acura were out of state - and apparently if you live in Florida, you can only buy Acura Care extended warranty from a dealership IN FLORIDA.
Help with recommendations please?

I didn't know you had to buy the warranty in Florida if you live in Florida -- you've confirmed that's true? I live in Texas and bought mine from a dealership in Massachusetts when I bought my car, but if what you say is true, then that's of no help. Sorry!

What do you mean? What would happen if you tried to buy the warranty from a dealer in another state?

I was thinking of purchasing extended warranty for my vehicle as well. I did Google it and came upon "Curry Acura Care", maybe something to look into.

I'm not sure if the OP is qualified to purchase an extended warranty since he is past mileage for the normal manufacturer's warranty.
Also Curry Acura does sell the legit Acura Care warranty. Just fill out the form online and you will have a quote in your email within minutes. You can shop around locally and have dealers try to beat that price too. On a side note, certain dealerships will try to sell you on a third party warranty, including Acura of Pleasanton. So just be careful in what you are actually buying.

I'm speaking for my local Acura dealer here. I purchased an extended warranty at St.Louis Acura and the extended warranty is only good at that specific dealer after the factory warranty is dead. Try contacting different warranty companies, or contact your local Acura dealership for a reference.

Had my SRS light go on the other day. Was fine after I restarted my vehicle but bit unnerving. My concern is all the electronics our vehicles have.
Wonder if I could negotiate the warranty...

If I recall correctly, you bought your car from Pleasanton. I would avoid them for purchasing a warranty, since it is not Acura Care and will be like $4000 or more. I just got a quote from Ivan, their finance manager, whom is not very friendly if you ask me. Completely different experience from the sales department. In the end, I was able to buy a warranty (5 years / 100k miles) for my parent's MDX form our local dealership (Acura of Modesto) for $2000.

Yup, pricing for the warranty is negotiable. For the TLX it is around $1500 - $2000 depending on how long of a coverage you want.

I need to call curry Acura still. The only thing that would really stop me from buying from them is if they want my credit card info over the phone.

Why are you worried about your credit card? You're not liable for unauthorized purchases. I know it's a pain in the ass if your credit card is stolen, but, don't be afraid to use it for purchases over the phone. This "Curry Acura" seems to have been around for at least a few years. I haven't read anybody warning about them being some kind of scammers.

They just called me back a few minutes ago. They want $2750 for the 5yr 120k...and that's with a Costco membership discount, which I don't understand why me having a Costco account matters but I'll be passing on them

I was thinking of getting one too but ended up not. I've asked around, and Curry Acura has the best rate at the time. I also talked to all of my local dealers, and found out one of my friend is working at one of them. All dealers do not recommend Curry Acura as they will not honor their warranty. Although I have not heard much about them, I just ended up not getting the extended warranty and stay with my. Check your insurance company and see if they're covered anything else other than collision. Geico covered (applied to new car and under 15k miles only) all electronic/powertrain on my car for 7 yrs with 250 outta pocket, that is if I stay with Geico for 7 years. on the down side

I'm still shopping around and waiting for a friend to get back to me about a local dealer (Stevens Creek Acura) to see if they offer Acura Care or a 3rd party. The only thing that confuses me about Los Gatos is that their deals are for those only with a Costco membership, which I find odd. $1500 off if you're a Costco member I think is what the guy mentioned.

Yeah, I agreed dezymond, they got to saying bad things about other so you can buy from them. Funny thing is 2 of the dealers I asked, they mentioned Curry Acura before I can say who I got the quote from and they both offered a similar quote compared to Curry as well. That got me into thinking if they are really shady or not, so I ended up staying with my insurance. I'm not trying to give Curry Acura a bad rep or anything, just shared what I got =)

Honestly, all this warranty confusion with dealers offering third party warranties and talking crap about other dealers paints Acura in a bad light. Makes people leery about buying a warranty after all and even buying Acuras in the future.

Summer is Coming
I bought a Honda Care extended warranty from Bernardi Honda some years ago. At that time they had a good price. They also have an Acura parts website, but I don't know if they are still selling them. But might be worth it to ask them.
