Widest Wheel & Offsets...
Quick question for you guys. First I said I was not going to lower or get wheels for my TL since I daily it as my other car has all the mods done to it since it get's tracked.
Well I decided the TL needs some loving as well. I would like to run 20x10 all the way around with the lowest offset possible so I can have a decent size lip since the wheels will have a step lip. I would like to avoid rolling the fenders or messing with the inner wheel well liner. Car will be lowered on coilovers and the drop I will do it with the tires just right at the fender (no wheel gap). Not looking to slam the car with the tires tucked under the fenders, it is my daily.
Soooo give me some ideas on sizes and offsets would be awesome! Thanks
To give you an idea of how I would like the TL to sit here's a pic of my GT3

i believe your going to run high offset if your not going to fender mod.. or atleast shave or roll.
it will also depend on your tire size as well.. FYAH is running an agressive set of 20x10.5 +19 all around and with slight camber and fender shaving with small tires.. 235F/245R/35/20
check out FYAH canibeat feature

But I guess you didn't really read my post very well it asks what sizes will work, which means I am open to different size suggestions that will be the most aggressive WITHOUT rolling the fenders. I never stated I wanted to run 20x10.5 all around like you mentioned above...

20x10 with an offset around +40 should work without much fender work. BTW those of us running low offsets still have the original fender liners with no issues.
NOTE: to run wheels flush on the 4G TL without rolling fenders could be challenging especially in the rear because the quarter panel has that huge lip underneath that causes the rubbing issues so anything lowered and flush stand the chance of rubbing.
Love the GT3.

You did say ideas on sizes and offsets thats probably why running 10.5 was mentioned.

assuming from what OP is stating, he wants tire flush instead of wheels being flushed with fender.
also if your not going to slam the car, you can just get a spring set instead of coils.. they do the same job.. after all it is your daily.

Thanks for the comment on the GT3

Even if the car is not slammed, springs will not get the car lowered to the height I want whether it's my daily or not.

it seems like you might be going for Nexson's look, but a little higher. Here's a post from his progress thread. he sold the car now but it should still give you some ideas.
Now back home and lowered back down, doesn't seem to be rubbing at all, might go a tad lower in the front but really seems to good. Nice thing about all this is that I am in OEM spec all for camber adjustments. Can't beat that.
So here they are, the pictures everyone has been waiting for!

Yeah I've seen pics of that car and have seen it in Miami before. Not really looking for pics of how car's look need the size & offset to see if it will work...

But the only way to find out if a particular size & offset will work or not, is to see that setup on the target car.
Otherwise, talk is cheap, and may even lead you nowhere in your quest for the size & offset info.

This site gives a good comparison of what you have to what you want to go with. Put the factory setup in the left, and what you are going to on the right.

what your asking for, from my experience, has not been done here..
my best advice to you is to call up custom wheel shops (HRE, ADV.1, DPE, Forgestar) and ask them how to take measurements from inside the wheel well. once measurements are in, they can advise you on how you can play with offset , size, and tires.

I just wanted ideas on what sizes and offsets people were running with no modifications to the fenders or very little. But looks like I will just figure it out myself since not much help on here...
Here's pics of one of my previous Z06's, so I think I know a thing or two, just saying.

Honestly i can care less what car you have or had...
if you know how to do the measurements.. then why not do it and get an absolute answer? seems kinda stupid to ask for options when already you know how to get the answer..

OP, Why bother. You've already got a nice high hp toy. The 20x10's will just be unnecessary weight for the TL to drag around.

wow ive never see someone ask for help and turn around and be such a bitch
stop showing other peoples car smh
BTW you dont know what you are doing because usually when people have those kind of cars they already have a relationship with wheel shops.

OP, the front will be fine with 8.5-9" wheel with 35 offfset. It's the back tha needs fenders rolled if you go anything past a 10" 45 offset and lowered. If not doing coilovers you'll be fine.
Your Z06 and GT3 are very very nice. I hope you post up more pics. People here seem to get butt hurt/ hate easily. You must have worked very hard to enjoy nice things. Congrats. Your daily driver TL is hese guys main vehicle....and it's not even an expensive car....so of course these idiots are going to hate on you. Keep up the hard work girl!

Wheels and offsets....
Hey there, if you haven't already reached out to Tirerack, they can usually get you started down a discussion path...you'll have to do some lifting yourself cuz they're a little conservative and will steer you to "safe" choices, but if you probe a bit, you can make decisions that will lead you to the right wheel/tire combo. Also, if you google "Miata Tire Calculator" you'll get an effective quick calculator to pick the right 19 or 20 inch tire sizes to match your existing rolling diameter. The link is here if it comes thru: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html . I believe the existing 18" wheels have an offset of 50mm. I wanted to go to a 35mm offset and a 275 width and was told that that would rub. That's the only data point I can offer you, though I think that I was just on the edge, so if you went with a 265 with a 35mm offset, or a 275 with a 40mm offset, you'd be OK.
Best of luck to you....sweet rides both (C6 and GT3).

She looks older than 34.....been ridden hard for most of those years. How else does someone get a GT3 unless butake is involved?
Didn't realize that you lose points for comments like the one above. Perhaps I should have reworded it as such;
"She has certainly succeeded in life much better than I did at age 34. I only owned moderately priced imports and not sweet rides like her GT3 which I will never own, but I do have 2 great kids which no car could ever take their place - yet".
