Nexson's BRP '10 TL Progression Thread
Hey Everyone!
My name is Brian and I would like to introduce my Acura TL and its progress so far. Here is the day I bought my Basque Red Pearl 2010 TL, November 7, 2010. I got it for 34,300. It has the 18'' wheels with the Tech Package.
Here are some pictures before the slight modifications began.
Then I couldn't stand the grille much longer, so out came the paint gun. Well, the paint gun comes out every weekend anyway's. =)
Then I ordered and installed the OEM lip kit. Not crazy about the front but oh well. Also added 3M 20% Tint.
I really hated the long clear strip, so I tined half of it to resemble the AWD covers, then I just replaced them. I also waxed and sealed the paint.
Now I am at the next phase of my progression. I have ordered TEIN SS, TEIN EDFC, which will be molded into the dash where the empty slots are. I also purchased Front and Rear camber/toe kits from SPC. I like to do things the correct way so I am not replacing tires sooner then I need to.
I ordered wheel adapters from Ichiba through a vendor, only to find they don't make them for our car. I will have custom made wheel adapters soon, to make my Stock wheels flush with my fenders.
Future Mods:

Looks great. Not overdone, like some I've seen.
And that color really looks nice. Wish it would have been available in AWD-MT.

Thanks for the compliments! I like to do "just enough" to the car to make a difference. I am not much for tint overlays and all that stuff. The car is beautiful itself and just needs slight enhancements.
I most likely will leave the headlights stock. It is all a part of keeping the integrity of the car.
Less is more.

Very nice Brian -- I owe you those pics - don't hesitate to give me a call if you have any questions!
When you say molded into the dash I assume you're going to do another fiberglass project ?

The EDFC controller will fit nicely where those "slots" are. I will make a thread for that and include pictures here as well.

Hey, I don't know why I thought you were not local. Go Golden Panthers!!
I used to have that plate too...changed to the American Red Cross one and then crossed the colors on the flag to represent my Swiss heritage on the down low.
Anyway, GREAT color car and very nice work with your painting skills. I can't wait to see that car with a proper drop. I agree about doing things right the first time around. PS...there was a 3G basque red pearl that had color matched headlights...that absolutely made me fall in love with it. Since you're a painter and clearly not scared of modding, I would HIGHLY beg you to be the first (maybe?) color matched headlights. I would love to see pics of that. Even if you keep the amber diffuser (or vht it?) to keep it looking totally oem....paint the chrome with BRP.
Just an idea...it's clear you know what you're doing.

Well, actually I am still right on schedule to install everything in the summer. Maybe the middle of June or early July. School lets out Thursday and the last day for us teachers is Friday. So then I hand the keys in and hope for a job next year, as I have been cut along with 1399 other teachers in my county.
Anyways my plans are still the same with the drop, still deciding where I want to put the EDFC. Also comtemplating 2012 front conversion. Alot of things are on the horizon, I am just pretty busy with my day and side job.
Thanks for visiting, and hopefully soon enough you will have something to look at!!

Well the time is getting near for the Suspension install. Once the install is in, I will have custom wheel adapters made to flush out my stock wheels, since ichiba doesn't make them for our cars.

Yup, got the front camber kit in today and my car is completely in OEM spec, it rides like butter. Will get to edfc soon. Pictures will be here by the weekend, spacers need to be ordered now.
