TPMS question

Hey Guys. New to site. Purchased a 2012 TL SH-AWD Elite package. Put snows on the stock 19 inch wheels and upgrading to 20’s in the spring. Question I have is where to get a set of wheel sensors and do I need to go to dealer to program or do they learn themselves once on rim and start spinning??

Just get OEM sensors. It should just work. No need to get it programmed at dealer at all.

I just don't understand why. But the TPMS wheel sensors are particularly expensive for our 4G TL.

I've been using the TPMS sets from Tire Rack on both my summer setup (19" + Michelin Pilot SuperSports) and winter setup (17" + Bridgestone Blizzaks), and have had no issues. And no, no programming is required, just drive for about 1 minute going faster than 15mph and the pressures will display.

Those 315Mhz sensors are $38 a piece as opposed to $148 Acura list price or $106 discounted from acuraoemparts.com

I got my sensors from the company I bought my winter wheels from, $55 CAD, which is about $40 USD, and they said they were oem. There’s no need to pay dealer prices for tpms sensors.

35 dollar ones on work fine. TL is great, pull off the winter wheels and it finds the summer tires even with the wheels in the back seat of the car. I have the tire rack ones on my Winter wheels and tires. No problems in 4 years of us
Reminds me of the old SNL sketch = I don't know where Bathroom Monkey TPMS come from.. I don't know how they reproduce.. I don't know how they eat. But I do know one thing: they were born to be used on my TL.
