Michelin Pilot Super Sport
Hi Everyone,
I've just picked a 2012 TL with the Teck Pkg and 6MT in Crystal Black. I'm Pretty stoked about it.
Living in Wisconsin, although it has the Sh-awd, I've opted to go with some Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4(snow tires) and could not be happier. The ride is very smooth and traction has not been compromised at all(I still cannot believe what an amazing car it is).
Just wanted to hear some feedback on the Super Sports, since I'll be needing summer or different tires in a few months.
Does anybody recommend them at all?
What do you guys have on?
Would you buy them again?

Have them, love them and would buy again, i would agree with all the positive reviews this tire recieved.
Excellent traction dry or wet, cornering or straight line.Quiet and comfortable for a high performance summer tire.

I remember seeing a similar discussion elsewhere. There was a suggestion to check out the tire reviews on tirerack.com. There are some on AZ who are very happy with Continental ExtremeContact DWS A/S tires, and the Bridgestone Potenza Pole Position A/S tires rate very highly.

I have them on my 135 and I couldn't be happier. Pricey, but the best performance tires I've ever run. I can't run them on the TL because I drive too many miles (sales with a big territory) and will need a higher mileage version in the summer.

I'm using PA4 now for the winter, and Pilot Super Sport (PSS) for the summer.
The PSS is an awesome high performance summer tire. It sticks to the road like crazy glue. If you're looking for maximum summer performance, the PSS will never disappoint.

You can't go wrong with Michelin Pilots Super Sports. I've used over a dozen sets on my S4. I daily drive my S4 between the TL through the canyons every other day to work and they are wonderful.

This applies to all summer tires. The summer tire compound will begin to harden and lose adhesion when the temp starts to dip below 7 degC. The colder the temperature, the harder the tire compound; and the summer tires will become utterly unusable in the freezing temperatures.
On the other hand, the Pilot Alpin PA3/PA4 high performance snow tires are designed to maintain high performance handling even in extreme cold temperatures.
When the outside temp is cold enough, the PA3/PA4 snow tires will outperform even the PSS summer tire in handling (except top speed rating).
This is exactly why I use the PA4 for the winter, and reserve the PSS only for the warm summer days.

Have 2010 TSX w/ OEM 225/50-17s and the Michelin HX MXM4 and just bought RonJon 19" rims. Planned on PSS 245s for summer, keep the MXM4 for winter until they wear out (only have 15K miles on these now)
Expect the PSS to be much smoother ride (not being A/S) and handle much better, but anyone have experience to share about going from OEM 17" MXM4 A/S to 19" PSS?
Also trying to decide which size to get. 245/35-19 is about .4% under, so a very safe match. The 245/40-19 is 3.3% over... but I'm not lowered, so don't think I'll rub... would like more sidewall... but hear you shouldn't oversize by more than 2% on one site, and 3% on another...
Appreciate insights.
