I just had aftermarket rims put on today and my current sensors didn't fit the new rims and I need some help figuring out where to get new sensors and what kind.

You probably should have bought sensors from wherever you bought the wheels. Wheels have to be designed a certain way to be compatible with sensors.

you can also try the ronjon method. they use a strap type thing to attach the sensor to the wheel.

^^^^^ Agree.

The TPMS error message in the MID screen is very distracting indeed.

I was always advised to move the oem sensors over to the new rims. (or purchase oem sensors). Even then, I think you have to "connect" them to the car in some cases; surely one of the people that's done rims has the inside scoop on this one.

I actually registered to sell some TPMS sensors and center caps that came with some takeoff TL wheels I bought last month. I'm a Honda Odyssey owner that got rid of the stock runflat wheels and tires.

Not trying to spam your thread but if you want the stock sensors I'll ship them to you for $80. They'll fit 2008 and up models. They probably have like 10 miles on them all told. Hit me up at mrzero at gmail if you're interested.

My OEM sensors just linked up with the car as soon as they were put on with the new wheels, but I would imagine in your case since the OEM doesnt sound like it will fit you will probably have to get your aftermarket TPMS "programmed" to the car so they will display the pressures on the appropriate tires.

An aftermarket TPMS sensor of the proper frequency is automatically recognized by the pick up in the wheel well. You need part # TRW 42753-TK4-A01

If I were to purchase this set of TPMS sensor from http://www.ebay.com/itm/TPMS-OEM-Tyr...ht_3460wt_1396 , do I need anything else for my new rims? I noticed it doesn't come with the washers, bolts, nuts, etc, so would the installer have that or do I need to purchase it separately? Thanks.

You can purchase the nuts and washers at the dealer,it will cost about $7.00 for all four.I purchased a set from e bay and while i have'nt had them installed as yet this is what i did,the price is very good from ebay since the dealer quoted me $363. Can for a set.

i have no tpms on my type s wheels. doesnt bother me at all. i monitor my tire pressure weekly. my base tl wheels with snow tires on them have the tpms and during the winter its great because with the weather the tire pressure fluctuates so much

With no TPMS installed on the wheels, the MID will keep displaying the TPMS error message which will sooner or later become very irritating indeed.

Just installed my OEM sensors yesterday (driven less than 10miles on them), and although my car reads "tire pressure okay", it's not giving me an actual number?

did u need to get anything else (washers, etc) or were you able to literally just swap whatever you needed?

cjbernua8,

it will depend on your wheel air valve is designed.. i use adapters on mine from iforged.. all you have to do is use the adapters with the given washers to mount the tpms to the adapters. you can use your oem ones.

Meanwhile at the Bat Cave.... 2 years later, I did buy those from Tim lol. Tim being the amazing guy/vendor he is made it up to me by sending out new TL TPMS and paid for the difference to have the Accord ones removed and TL installed.

I don't remember how much I paid then, around 120? Honda has lost their frickin minds jacking up the price 3x.

Better late than never?

Late question. Who is Tim? Assuming he is an ebay vendor, what is the store or name?

I did find another discussion with a Tim:
Tim Poliniak
Internet Parts Sales - Acura of Peoria
Acura Parts | OEM Acura Parts | Factory Acura Parts
1-866-347-8355

But he's quoting $83 (next link) whereas I can get from a Canadian dealer for $77 CAD.
SENSOR ASSY., TPMS for 2012 Acura TL|42753-TY2-A51

Thanks in advance.

Sorry. I figured it out.

That is the correct Tim as in another thread HeartTL mentioned his great customer service when accidentally getting an accord TPMS.
