for someone who wants as soft a ride as possible, doesn't care about being extremely low but want to reduce fender gap with 20" wheels, what is the buying decision between basics and SS?

I wouldn't plan on using EDFC, and likely wouldn't want to change ride heights during the year (maybe raise up a bit during the winter i suppose)...

Fact you have to remove the rear seat to adjust height seems like i'd just want to set it and forget it...

690 vs 945? that is only 250 difference between the basics and the ss.. i invest a extra bit of cash on the SS instead..

its a no brainer.. but unlike some people here, they will skimp out and get the basis because they "think" it doesnt make a difference.. but it really does.

once you have a good setting, you pretty much dont want to mess with it at all.. i havent changed mine since the first 2 weeks i got them.. its been more then a year now since i touched them at all

Potz, these probably need a review from someone who has used both. For someone that won't be changing the settings, it might make sense if the ride feels good. Just an idea. The SS definitely has it's advantages, but still.

true.. this is why not many have bought basics..

all in all i rather have a option then none.. especially with these cars that come bumpy when stock.. i say a option to dampen is needed

Right? I'm coming from a '92 LS400 and even though it's a 20+ year old car, feels waaaay softer on the road compared to the TL.

^Agreed. Booya, there's no need to remove the rear seat to adjust the height. Just have to remove the wheels, then loosen/tighten the collars. Adjusting the damping for the Tein SS or others that offer that function would require you to remove the rear seat.

Also to XLR8, any specials coming up for your ISC coils?

I assume he's thinking the EDFC adjusts the height from the controller?

I agree, with these cars, you can't skimp on ride quality...especially when most of us have a FAMILY to through in it.

So just to clarify this link about is the TEIN Street Basis, which is the newest model. The Basics and Super Streets were the same platform. It's the same principle though. The Basics and now the Street Basis just adjust ride height. The Super Streets and once released the Street Advance adjust ride height and damping (how soft or firm the ride is).

If you're not going to adjust the damping and don't care about valving to your liking I would recommend the Street Basis. TEIN does a good job of finding a compromise.

I think it's worth the extra cost personally as well but some people don't care about adjusting damping. Most people generally don't change the damping but like you they like to find the sweet spot for them.

Correct, you only need to remove the back seat to adjust the damping in the rear.

Sure, we could offer you a discount. Pm me for details.
