Correct Offset for 4G

So, if I'm reading things correctly, the OEM offset for the 4G is 55mm. Therefore, for most of the sites that I'm looking at which says that a 19x8 or 20x8 wheel with a 35mm offset is a 'correct fitment' is probably not entirely correct, and that I should look to be staying somewhere in the 40's?

Appreciate any knowledgable input.

If you stick with an 8" wide wheel. going from a 55m offset to a 35mm offset is only going to move the wheel out towards the fender 0.8" That's a little over 3/4 of an inch. If you look down the side of the car the stock wheels are inset in from the fenderwells, so actually I think it will make the car look better with them pushed out a little. The overall look of the car is enhanced in my opinion when the wheels are flush with the fenders and body lines of the car, instead of being sunken in. It looks more aggressive. Maybe somebody will chime in that has 35mm offset 8" wide wheels.

Mine are 8.5 with a 40 offset. I did a calculator on that and that is 1mm pushed out more (or the other way around) either way it's pretty close to what you would see if my math is right.

Here are the 3 best ones that show the stance at that offset.

I'm looking at 18x8 in the 40ish range now and they will fit fine with the correct tire. I had run 35 offset on my G35 where it called for 48 and it looked like a much more aggressive stance.

A lot of the wheels I'm looking at seem to be better suited for RWD, but more than a couple of sites claim the 35 is a proper application (and they have a reasonable lip ... don't really care for the typical FWD application). Don't think I'll be messing around with a drop until I get some definitive input as to whether or not it would play havoc with the computers on the SH-AWD.

Those look perfect, as far as filling the wheelwell ... which would be expected as Rondy does his homework. Too bad I just don't care for the design.

Does anyone know the widest tire that will fit the stock 18" wheel without protruding from the wheel wells? Can I put a 255-45-18 on the stck wheel without any problem? Can I go wider? I'm a total wheel newbie, so I apologize if this is a dumb question.

I don't know how this is going to come out, but an idea of TSW Snettertons on the 4G. 19's up front, 20's out back (just to compare the differences). Might be the way I go.

I've used http://www.bigwheels.net/index.php for a reference (lots of wheels to pick from), the site states 35 to 50 for the 4G. Each wheel varied. I just put a set of 20X8.5 with a 42 offset. Hope info help……

I like the Snettertons too. I have a poll going and they are doing well. They look terrific in that screen shot.

yeah ... it's your fault that I'm looking into these in the first place. I like the hypersilver finish of the TSW better than what I'm seeing on the MRR GT 1s.

Check this thread - From the RJ site, I think these are 8" and +32.

They seem to tuck more than mine.. not sure, probably because he's lowered (which will move the wheels in more I think).
