Concave or Lip?

Tell me what you think!! Should I go for lip or concave style

19x8.5 5x120 +38 offset F+R Centerbore 72.6 - H&R 1inch drop front and back
Picking Priority
1. 100% will not roll fender(lease vehicle)
2. Will not rub the tires
3. Fitment is the least concern after considering the 2 criteria above

Some might ask why will I change my wheels when this is a lease vehicle. My expectation is to return a set of tires/wheels back to the dealer without they charging me for "Abnormal Wears & Tears" since I know the Michelin tire wont last for the whole lease.

Thank you very much for your input!

If I had to pick between those 2 wheels i would pick the one with the lip. if you look around you can find Concave + lip on the same wheels, like mine.

Make sure you buy the right hubcentric rings since the center bore is bigger than what our cars have.

I'd go with the concave, though I agree with ^^^ that you should look for concave + lip. I have that style too and love the look!

I already found the hub centric ring for the conversion, Thanks!

the ultimate dilemma. I contemplated between lip, step lip and concave too..and i ultimately chose concave. I only like lip/step lip if its REALLY deep.

19" wheels with a lip makes the wheel look really small IMO. If you want a lip, you should go for 20s...

I love me some concave, In large city's like NY I think lip rims stand a higher chance of bending due to the huge potholes.

x2! To each their own but I think the wheel sizing could work. It's just the tire sizing and camber specs are off. Then again, stretched tires and negative camber aren't for everyone...

The wheels on my 09 TL Tech came off my 04 530i BMW that I totaled!! Yes I agree the rear tires are little to wide. So I'm going to either change out rears to 8.5 or just sell the wheels and get something else. The wheel specs are : 20x8.5 in front anr 20x10 in the rear. The tires are 245-35-20 in front and 275-30-20 in rear. These wheels some how rides better than the factory wheels!!

Damn, they both look good. But I'm not sure I'd invest in wheels if it's a lease vehicle....unless you're planning on keeping it.

Thanks you for you guys input.

I am planning to get a better set of wheels so at least I can re-sell it by the end of the lease. One of the main reason that I want another set of wheels is to avoid the dealer charge me for a unreasonable bills of tires and wheels(since they make the final call...)

I've got the same size wheels on my 4G, (+35 / +40) - except I'm running a 255/35 tire in the rear with some negative camber. You can check out pictures of my car in the photography section to see how it looks.

Stay far far away from VMR. They have a crappy paint process and chip badly. I can't post pics right now since I am on my iPad but I had a set of wheels that chipped badly after 500 miles of hill country paved road driving. Many complain on the net. It's all over the BMW and Vw forums.
