Went ahead and ordered 22s for the Tl. Who else is running them?

no one else is running them because 22's dont belong on a acura..

brand of wheels? sizes? offsets? tire sizes?

are you lowered? suspension?

There were very few members running 22's (I think one or two), that I know of.

incorrect.. 20's are fine on a tl.. but that should be as big as it should go.. anything beyond that will not be recommended..

 

OP, don't worry about what others say... as long as you are happy with your car, it is all good.

 

True Story.

 

I went with 22x9 TIS 536MB wheels with a 245/30/22 Nexen N3000 stock suspension it fills up the wheel well nicely. I am really impressed with how the ride quality is even with a 30 series tire on there. Full turn no rub bumps tracks etc.. I was on the fence with going 22s or going staggered 20s as I liked both looks. I knew if I didnt atleast go with the 22s at first I would've regreted the descision as I can always sell the 22s and get the 20s. I am currently at work I'll post pics as soon as I can. No doubt they look huge on the car, some may say ghetto or donk however at first glance I wasn't in love with the look myself but it fills up the wells, the rims sit flush and dont stick out past the fenders or quarters and I can still drive it just like I did before (some people drive differently than I do I understand) after I drove it around last night stopped and looked at it I was highly impressed with the look and I am glad I went with the 22s. I live in springfield,mo so we have mild roads around here living her since I was born plays a good factor of knowing where and where not to drive. I like all types and styles of aftermarket wheels some are my taste some are not, I prefer the wheel/tire combo to be accurate and properly installed. Thanks for the input and hopefully it will help someone else decide later on down the road.

I'm not crazy about wheels bigger then 20's on a TL.......but am also very curious to see how they look.

 

Not the best pictures in the world but you kind of get the Idea. I really like the way it turned out and I am very impressed with the wheel. Again they are 22x9 +40 offset TIS536 wheels with Nexen 245/30/22 Tires. It is on factory suspension and yes it did raise the Car 1" which was to be expected because the wheel tire combo is 1" bigger than the factory setup from top to bottom. TIS Wheels posted my car on their webpage which I thought was pretty cool of them. Some people may like it and some may not I however am very pleased and hope the specs will help someone else out if in the future they decide to go 22s.

 

WoW big wheels but I like it. I think if you add the lip kit it will look a lot better and like I always say some will love it and some won't the car is yours and once you love it that's what matter.

Too big for my taste, but the black ground of the wheel help it to look somewhat smaller than they would look if the wheel was all silver. I think 20's would look have looked great.

 

be careful with those.. ive had my fair share of denting my wheels on 30 series tires.. even the slightest dip or bump can dent them..

what psi are you running?

 

I agree with "Vidol642",they look too big for my taste but the aero package will add some bulk to the car which should help offset the size of the rims.

Op,they rims reflect your taste so it is all good,enjoy.

 

Ive got quite the history with 30 series tires never had a problem, but I drive pretty careful. The above pics is my car that I use to show and my daily/hauler truck from back in the day. I appreciate the opinions but even more appreciate the respect with them instead of straight up bashing it. And I realize the car and truck isn't every body's favorite either but its what I wanted. TPMS reads 36-38 PSI. 36 is what I put in.

The OEM lip kit will improve the look with the 22's.......

ehhh idk about rice, I picture rice with vinyl and crappy work done on it and every aftermarket part that Autozone carries in stock, that's all house of color paint with 30 hours of airbrush work.

 

I was gonna get those exact wheels for my suv, same size too! Not for me but kudos for putting them on your ride

 

Good looking wheels-they might be a little to larger for the TL, but as long as you like them-that's all that matters.


Just drive carefully with them.

 

I was really impressed with the wheels when they came in, its a clean good quality wheel they would look good on an suv for sure.

OP, I think if you dropped the car a little, to remove some of the gap, it would have better proportions to my eye. As others have mentioned, the lip kit would help the proportions as well. Again, just what seems to be pleasant to my eye. I have always like the way 5 spokes look on the TL.

 

Yea lower that thing down a bit and put on a lip kit. It will definitely make those rims seem more at home on your car.

 

Besides what other members have already mentioned I also don't like the donk wheels because they make the stock brakes look lego size. I'm not sure if lowering the car would be a good idea, wouldn't that make the wheels look even bigger? If you're going to keep the wheels get the lip kit 1st and take it from there IMO.

An oversized big brake kit (both front and rear) can fix this lego-sized brake appearance.

 

Looks good. Good choice with the 22".

I'm loving it man! Nice choice of wheels and brand at that. You got me thinking now LOL. Thanks for the pics. I think they look great. So no rubbing at all, even with passengers? I'd imagine ride quality is a little harsh. How much do you think the wheels weigh? I ask this because the brakes will wear a lot faster with heavier wheels unless you get a bbk! And if it fits, then I don't consider it too big. Its just like people running 10.5 wheels with stretched tires. Is it too wide? LOL. A little over the top but they do it bc they like the way it looks. Same with 22s and people slamming their car.

if your tires are 1" bigger than stock, ur speedo is off then? so your car will have less miles on it for resale

 

Oh, it's an eye catcher, that's not the point.

Adding that huge amount of unsprung weight and rotational mass to your wheels/car is not conducive to good handling and performance.

 

LOL Donk, Typically a "donk" could be classified as a Large bottum, refering to a woman with an above average size rear end. Also classifying vehicles with oversized wheels begining at 20" and going up. I picture a Donk as a vehicle that has been lifted with oversized wheels older chevy's etc... Donk, BOX, BUBBLE which some people call it. Not only chevy's can be classified but other makes and models as well. If you would like to classify my car as a "DONK" by all means, your entitled to your opinion. Thanks for checking it out. There is no such thing as bad press.
