20" wheels

Will 20" wheels on stock height make the car sit higher off the ground by an inch or so??
Going from Oem 17" to 20" aftermarket is gaining about 3" in diameter but the low profile tires will offset some ground height on 20" wheels?
Please chime in

so, your overall diameter should be about the exact same dependning on tire choice...

Stock 17" wheels have 50 series tires...
18" have 45 series
19" have 40 series
20" have 35 series

So the tires get thinner to offset the bigger diameter wheels... Where it gets a little tricky is the tire width... If you have 8-9" wide wheels people usually go with a 245 width, if you go 255, those will be wider and slightly taller

there are tire calculators on the web where you can compare you stock setup and whatever you want to get to see the difference. But in general it will be marginal provided you follow the above recommended series tires.

Some who want to slam their car or run high offset wide wheels will stretch tires or run thinner tires to get them to fit. Not necessarily recommended.

Also remember a 3" different diameter is only 1.5 inch difference in radius. So a 35 series tire is about 1.5" thinner than a 50 series tire. You aren't making up 3 full inches.

20x10 with +35 offset. 1.5in lowered.. I seen most guys here do 245-35-20..... What you think of 275-30-20? I seen one guy did it on lowering springs and swears by it. What do you think of that set up?

that's a lot of tire. 275mm is 10.8" wide. it'll look mean but i don't think your fenders will handle it without a lot of work and some camber.

Do you have any pics? And Yea I do Plan to drop but not slam. I seen the one guy on here with 275/30/20. But my goal is to have the least amount of stretch.

Sorry, I didn't take any pics, only had the wheels on for 500 miles or so. There was nothing wrong with the setup, but I really want to go with the 19" diamond cut that Acura offers.

Well it was needed on a 10.5" wheel with an AWD system to get as close as possible to the same rolling diameter of the front tire that was 245/35/20. By the way when people throw a 245/35/20 onto a 10" wheel, that tire is pretty much now a 30 series with the stretch. My front tires were on a 9" wheel and there was no stretch at all. So the 30 series on the rear was needed.

245/35/20 Is the concern I have because ain't want that stretch. Still waiting on the offset they making for me. so I'm trying the Tire research but ain't seen much 255/275 on here with good pictures.
