winsheild washer fluid smell
winsheild washer fluid smell
Hello,
I noticed that when I use the windsheild washer sprayers to clean the front window, I start to smell the fluid through the vents. The more I spray the fluid, the stronger the smell inside the car.
I don't think this is normal, I've never had this issue with the other 3 Honda's I've driven.
Any thoughts? I'll have Acura look at it at my next oil change.

The fresh-air intakes are at the base of the windshield, so I can see how this would happen. Try washing your window while driving when the airflow will take most of the smell away. Or pick a window fluid that has less smell.
^ I agree...I believe this is normal due to the proximity of the air intake to the washer jets. I've had this effect on past cars as well, the most notable being a past VW GTI, which had notoriously horrible smelling washer fluid out of the Mexico assembly plant. The common first thing to do for owners was to run the factory fluid out and completely flush it out with fresh water and then replace with new fluid. I haven't used the washers much on my new TL to notice, but perhaps the factory fluid is stronger smelling than alternatives you can find in the stores.
