Whirling noise..stops when breaking

I have a 2010 TL with 70k miles that makes a whirling noise that can be heard on the front drivers drivers side when going 25 and above. When you begin to softly apply the break it gets quiet, let off and it comes back. Of course it more noticeable when the radio is off but I have become so attuned to the noise that I can even hear it with the radio on at lower levels. It's not as noticeable from the passengers side.
I took it to the dealer and they suspected maybe it was the pads which still had about 60% life left.
I wanted the noise to go away so I bought new pad and new rotors and put them on. Everything was greased and installed properly Still the same noise.
Took it back to dealer where they had it all day trying multiple things... Swapping tires with a 2013, moving tires around, checking wheel bearings, looking for any rubbing, called the Acura tech line,etc...they finally concluded that the three 2013 loaners that they had are doing the same thing and said it appears to be normal.
Has anyone noticed this problem? If so have you found a fix?
Thanks in advance for any help or advise.

could be that your break pads are JUST BARELY touching the rotor (warped?), so when you apply the breaks it creates solid contact and quiets down. Jack up your car (blocks to prevent rolling, and e-break on) put in neutral, and spin your front tires by hand. Should help shed some light on the issue.
Good luck.

if it is an AWD model it may be the prop shaft.
