What is the name of this part?

Does anyone know what part this is? I thought it was a catalytic converter, but now I don’t think so. The reason I am asking is because of the damage which can be seen in the picture. Is this a reason for concern? Thanks in advance!

It’s a flex pipe. The damage flex pipe will cause an exhaust leak

AKA flex joint.
It's expensive to replace because it's part of a pipe assembly.
I think there are some metal bellows on the inside and the wire mesh just provides some additional strength.

For my vehicle (I think all 4G utilize the same part), see item 5 in the link below:

Just Google the part number:

Acura Part No.:18210-TK4-A01

List is about $700 but I found a place for $475

It's Pipe A so it'll be the piece between the cats.
