Vibration while driving at higher speed
Hello All,
I was not sure if anyone faced this same issue but please let me know if you have.
So i have a 2010 acura tl 6sp manual with 20,000 miles on it. I can't seem to remember this from before but when i am now driving highway the car seems to have a vibration that goes through the steering wheel and i also feel it in the seat. It is rather annoying. Now i am not sure if this is because the tires might be getting older (they still have more than 2/32 on them) or if someone noticed it on their own car.
Also if someone did have this trouble, did fixing the tires help. The only thing i know for sure is when it is idle, i don't feel any vibration so it isn't an engine mount. Also putting it in neutral doesn't change anything.
Thanks for all your help.

i can tell you from experience, the oem michelins suck balls...this is my 3rd car with this tire, and when new, its not too horrible, but close to the end, its a horrible tire that gets noisy, and rough riding, and has zero traction in wet conditons...i almost didnt buy this car due to the fact that i had just put new tires on my type s, and didnt want to have to live with this tire for the next 3 years...

tires are not your issue, cars have a vibration problem that Im going through with my dealership presently trying to say its not an issue.
call Acura main off.8003822238 and complain, the more you complain the more they will have to take notice and act on it.

change your tires first to see if that resolves the issue since its 2/32 thread, you need to change it anyways.
make sure all your lugs are torqued tightly. there must not be any wheel play when you jack up the car. has to be tight and form on there.

Sometimes, vibrations at high speed can be caused by wheel/tire out of balance, or uneven tire wear.

first of all, you should go check the balance of your car first. Then if the problem does not go away. It should be the problem of the tires.a limp I switch my tires with Michelin Sport A/S plus, now my car runs like a champ.
Also, you should let some technician check the shape of your tires, if there is a "hump" or a flat spot on it, it will be vibrated for sure too.
And here is far from my concerning,
Honda/acura builds such a very reliable vehicle, but they always meet such some basic problems, Vibration on high speed, brake vibration. I mean these issues happen in any year models. (mostly)
I can tell, why it does not happen in BMW, Infiniti, Lexus.
Even those car engines are far from comparing to Acura.
about the durable, and stable.
So, no need to panic, just some normal issues.
what I did to my car is (bought it with 12,000 miles)
change new tires (good tires) and good brake pads, brake rotors.
now it runs like new, now vibration, no issues at all. just change your oil, check your fluids, then you good to go.
Good Luck Bud
