I purchased my 2014 TL SH-AWD 6MT TECH in November of last year.

Today, I discovered that all four underbody plugs are missing (they were never installed). I also never received the front bumper plugs that are removed by the dealer when installing the front license plate.

Both of these items are shown on page 7 of TSB 13-031 under the following sections:

I contacted my dealer service director today and he is going to contact the dealer who did the TQI (as it was a dealer trade) and see if they still have all of the parts. If not, he is going to order them for me.

The underbody plugs are part of the noise-reduction package. They play a large role in reducing road noise.

It will be interesting to see if there is a significant reduction in road noise with the underbody plugs installed. Although, it will be very subjective without a dB meter.

Anyone else missing the four underbody plugs and/or never received the front bumper plugs?

Another case of a poor TQI by the dealer.

Update:

I picked up the four underbody plugs from my dealer and installed them, per the TSB.

It seems quieter with them installed, but as I previously stated, it will be very subjective without doing an A/B comparison with a dB meter.

I also asked my dealer about not receiving the front bumper plugs.

After checking the web parts catalog and not seeing them as an orderable part, and also checking an actual replacement front bumper, the 2012-2014 model years definitely do not have front bumper plugs and only have two small dimples.

The 2009-2011 model years do have the front bumper plugs and they are orderable parts for each paint code.

So, Acura carried over the front bumper plug information from the 2009-2011 model year TQI TSBs to the 2012-2014 TQI TSBs in error.

 

Thanks for the info. Can anyone confirm if the underbody plugs TSB is US only TSB or also applicable to Canada?
