Uncomfortable seats
Do any of feel the seats become more uncomfortable, the more you
drive it? On long drives, my back and neck become sore as hell, and the inverted head rest feels like a rock stabbing my head. Ive
sat in the passenger seat and it felt even worse.
Have any of you found a way to adjust the headrest, so that it doesnt push your head out of the seat?

the seats in my SH-AWD are great

I love the seats in my TL also. As for the headrest, it's one that will move forward in a rear-ender. If you sit in the back seat, you can push it forward and pull it back. I've noticed it moves forward a little on its own. It will move back about 2 inches when pushed.
I don't know if the dealer can make any adjustments. Someone should ask next time they're in!

Actually this is my thrid TL and I agree that the 09 AWD is not as comfortable. Also, unlike my thrid generation it lacks the same adjustment capability to raise the front of the to raise my knee height. Not a big fan of the seats.

The head "rests" are not to rest your head on. They are head "restraints". You shouldn't rest your head on anything while you're driving.
Also, I've found that most people do not adjust them properly or ever. The rule of thumb is middle of the head rest/middle of ear. Try that and see if it helps.

they may be head restraints, but I feel like they push my head way forward all the time. It is uncomrtortable. The only way to get around it is to lean the seet back, but then I have to move it forward so my arms arent too far from the wheel and that causes m legs to not have enough space. This is stupid. I am looking to get a replacement headset. Maybe from an 07 TL.

I find them very comfortable for long trips, but it took me quite a few tries to get them right.
Try adjusting the seats so that you sit in a different style. If you have it in a typical chair configuration, try leaning it back more like in a sports car.
Try slowly adding lumbar support until you can feel it, then put it back one notch.
Also, don't forget to adjust your seat belt anchor if necessary.

Sorry if this isn't what you meant, but I don't remember the 08 Type-S I test drove being able to do anything other than that.

I just did a 600 mile trip, the seats were fine for me. I did adjust the lower back support a few times to give more support as the trip grew on, but I wish they were a little wider at times.

Amen to that. They make my love handles cry sometimes.
And as far as resting your head, no you shouldn't do it while driving, of course. But for the instances when you're chilling in the car waiting for someone (which for me is QUITE often, what with my girlfriend's inability to read a watch lol), I find myself laying my head back and wishing for a more comfortable head rest. The one in the TL is totally uncomfortable. Even the one in my father's 09 Accord is softer, which I find very surprising.

My beer fridge is in
i just went on a 2500 mile road trip, loved the seats. The only time i didn't like the head rest was when i was in the passenger seat and i was trying to sleep, a little to hard to sleep comfortable, other than that, they are great.

My biggest complaint is the seat pads its self. It seems that around the butt area the left side is extra high. Its the first car i've sat in that when I sit down I have to slide my butt over to the right. Hopefully this will change once the seat is broken in a little more.

I think that everyone here needs to put down their size and weight and maybe even waist size when complaining or praising the seats in the TL. I'm finding the seats more uncomfortable in the TL during long drives (over 5 hours) mostly because it seems as if my left leg rests more on the side thigh bolster than the flat seat surface. This makes for an uneven seating area akin to sitting on your wallet for long drives IMO.
For reference, I'm 6'3" and 230-240lbs. My waist size is 38". I have let friends of all sizes drive the car and the ones that love the seats the mos tend to be under 5'6" and around 160lbs and under. Their ass seems perfectly nestled into the actual perforated Milano leather part of the seat, and not on the thigh bolster.

Seats seem fine to me as well. I'm 6' tall and weigh 180lbs. They are alot more comfortable than my sisters 2007 G35X seats. No room at all in that car.

Anyone noticed the seam in the seat back irritates their back? I noticed this the first day I got the car, very annoying as I can feel the line that runs horizontally! Not so bad with the winter coat on, but when just wearing a t-shirt it's very irritating.
Maybe I should pull the skin and have it re-done with no seam?

I do not find that seam irritating but my brother was complaining the whole time. Maybe due to different body types?
Initially, I found the seats very comfortable. However, recently, I've had trouble finding a comfortable position sitting in them.
For me, I think it has something to do with the footrest being too forward? Not sure, I'm still trying to adjust to find a nice position.

You should try the seats in the Vette. You'll never bitch again.

I work night shift and take power naps in my car uring my break. it's impossible to get comfortable. I've resorted to sitting in an awkward position in the rear. The hump in the center of the rear is ridiculous....
#34
I know right? It effectively turns the TL into a 4 seater. EVERYONE that sits in the rear middle complaints non-stop!! The SHAWD model has a bigger hump than the base, but both are pretty uncomfortable. Acura needs to rethink this.

2010 TL AWD 6MT: New King
Other cars have annoying humps as well. Lexus IMHO has the most uncomfortable one; I had a 2009 IS 250 AWD for a whole 4,000 miles b/c their AWD system places a hump in the drivers footwell; never occurred to me to look there. Extremely painful and definitely not luxurious. Who the hell designed the dam IS anyways? At least Audi has the foresight to place their quattro hump in the A/S4 on the passenger side, and Acura's SH-AWD in the TL's rear center.
Does anyone know if the RL has a rear center hump?
#38
I am not sure why Acura even needs a hump on the FWD model but with the SH there is almost no way around it. I don't remember ever being in a RWD or AWD sedan that didn't have one but as bad as it is, it's worse in most other RWD/AWD sedans IMO.
What I do like that Acura did was allow for a decent amount of foot room on top of the hump itself and they raised the middle seat significantly higher than the other rear seats. Doesn't eliminate the issue but it helps. I didn't see these methods applied with most of the competiton, especially the samller RWD/AWD sedans but it helps that the TL is just plain larger with more interior space in the first place.

I've drove from OH to MA and back... no issues - quite comfortable all the way. I've slept 4-5 hours in the driver seat while racing at Night Under Fire...
