Twang like sound when 2 or more passengers in the car

I have a 2013 TL Tech. I have had the car 6 months now and have used the car for my commute almost exclusively. Have rarely ever had a passenger in the car.

Had family visit over memorial day and have now started noticing that when there are 2 or more people in the car and I go over a depression in the road, a loud twang like sound seems to be coming from under the car. Like something from a spring. It happens if any of the wheels goes over an irregularity over the road which may test the suspension when more weight is in the car.

Is this normal? I have read a few posts where folks have had this kind of a problem looked at by Acura and they have refused to do anything about it saying its "normal".

Car was CPO and has 35K on it now. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Do you have aftermarket wheels that have too aggressive offsets ?

No I have the stock set up. The sound does not occur if I go over a pot hole or drain cover. Only happens when the wheels go through a smooth dip in the road.

I guess none of you guys experienced this?

Maybe the spring isn't seated properly? if its all stock that would be strange...

Maybe its a rear sway bar endlink issue? Thats probably more likely.

Finally made an appointment with the dealer to have it looked at. Filled it up with gas and put 60 pounds worth of dumbbells in the back as the twang is more pronounced when there is weight in the car.
Got 2 Acura techs to ride in the car with me to reproduce the sound...went over a hundred dips in the roads around the dealership and guess what? It didn't make the sound again.

I last heard the twang the night before I took it in and the only thing I can think of which may have "cured" it is was pushing down on the hood and trunk above each tire to check the suspension. This may have reseated whatever was out of place.

Anyway my problem has been solved after an inexpensive but rather embarrassing trip to the dealer.

I started hearing the same noise

I knew I would find someone with the same issue. My 2010 TL just started this same thing about a week ago. The sound seems to come from the front of my car. It happens the same way, as I hit a dip or certain bumps. It doesn’t happen every time I hit a bump or dip either. I jacked the car up yesterday to see if anything was loose or out of place, and I couldn’t find anything. Has anyone else had this problem and did you get it corrected??
