Tugging/Pulling feeling while accelerating

I have a 2010 Acura TL and I am experiencing what feels like a tugging/pulling feeling while I accelerate as well as when I release the gas pedal. Its much more noticeable going at low speeds 20-60km / hr. When I drive and go around 2000 rpm it feels as though the car is being tugged/pulled backwards. There is a bit of a tug/pull when I apply the brakes as well.

Does anyone know what could possibly be causing this? Or what to check for that could be possibly causing this? There is no code that appears on the dash but I definitely notice something is different when I drive.

Car specs:

- Automatic
- 80,000 KM
- RWD
- Technology Package.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Are you pulling to the left or right when you feel the tugging? Any noises when it happens... if so, what does it sound like and what part of the car does it seem to be coming from?

Its pulling backwards. Its hard to explain, it feels as though the car is stalling and struggling to accelerate hence the pulling/tugging feeling. There is no noise when it happens and it seems to come from the engine area or front of the car.

Considering the fact that your car is RWD, there must be numerous modifications to your car, anyone of which could be causing the "tugging"

On a serious note, prob is the alignment

You need an alignment. Your toe is probably out of spec. Also check your tires too.

Would you describe the symptom as a loss in power?

I think I do need an alignment as I haven't done so in quite some time and my tires are pretty low on tread but would an alignment cause that sort of tugging feeling while accelerating? Sometimes after engine start and in idle there is a mild to moderate shake of the engine as well, could an alignment cause this sort of symptoms while idle?

If your toe is out of wack meaning the wheels are not pointing straight like it's supposed to (mainly it's front wheels) then it will not steer straight. It sounds like you need an alignment since you haven't done one in quite some time. You will need a 4 wheel alignment. Supposed to be every year. It def has to do with your suspension though.

You could have more than one problem. You mentioning the symptom developing at a certain RPM indicates to me there may be something related to the motor (maybe MAF sensor).

I definitely agree you should have the alignment checked. I would also see if there are any trouble codes stored (despite no CEL).

Mine seems to do something similar only in 2nd gear on heavier acceleration. The car doesn't seem to accelerate smoothly and feels like something is out of round. It has done it since I bought the car new.

It is really bad on the 1-2 shift, it is like a bog then the rpms tremble and the car finally resumes acceleration.
