Trunk cargo net - wrong install

Just want to know if anyone can show me some pictures of their cargo nets in their trunks. I think my is installed wrong. Here are few pictures of my:

To me the side clips are too low and I can never use them. If I use them the net is completely loose and it just unhooks. I think the side clips should be higher closer to the top hinge. I can not get the net installed vertically. I can only do it flat or "L: shape which is useless to me.

Mine came with a small set of instructions. It had to be ordered through the dealer parts dept as they gave me the wrong net Witt the car. Looks to me like you have the right one.

I circled for you where the top straps are supposed to hook to.

I tried that spot as well but then the net is super loose. I guess that is the way it supposed to be.

I would tie a few knots to shorten the nylon loops

If memory serves there are several options to install the cargo net.

1) up against the rear of the cargo
2) like you have in photos
3) more of a top down cover net to keep things from shifting

Could be more, I have mine listed like #1 though I'll see about getting a photo of it another time as I work nights and usually sleep during the day.

Thanks for all the responses, looks like I will have to invest in a trunk organizer. As it is the net is useless for what I want to carry. If I attach it to the sides it is too lose to hold anything, If I have it the way it is on my pictures when I give it a bit it all slides out and slides all over trunk. The option #3 would be good but it is too loose.

Thank you for the instructions. I have it in the rear vertical position right now. I was playing around with it and noticed the Loop "A" so it is a bit better. Still wish it could go higher, it is pretty shallow net. My wife's civic now that is a net.

I really like the nets in the 3G - there are two - one large like the 4G net and a smaller net that installs in one of the rear corners. The anchors are also mounted higher in the 3G. I am not sure why the cargo net was downgraded in the 4G.

I actually ordered the small net while ordering a few other parts from an Acura dealer online but I found that the Anchors are in the wrong place to make good use of it. I also ordered a few additional Anchors but have not had time to install them. They look like they screw in with self-tapping screws but I am afraid to drill into something in the trunk that is important.....I can just see myself drilling away only to see the drill bit pop through the quarterpanel....

Right now I put a small soft-sided auto trash bin in the rear corner of the trunk for smaller items like microfiber towels, ice scraper, dry cleaning laundry bags etc. Seems to be working so far...

I really dislike the net that came with my 4G TL. It is so small that it's useless for putting much in it. Makes no sense to me.

Where can I purchase more anchors on it's own? I installed the net on my wife's civic so I don't mind drilling but I had no idea I can purchase the anchor on it's own.

goodhugh, I agree the net could be/should be much better. I agree with you. That is why I started this thread thinking maybe it was installed wrong but thanks to the instructions from you it is installed correctly and as you said pretty much useless.

IIRC I think they trim that rear piece off for SH-AWD application.
