Trip A resets when idling for long time

Three times this has happened. There is an old thread similar to this topic, but not exactly.

I have the custom setting to reset Trip A when I refuel. This typically works fine. I fill up, and when I first re-start the car, the miles don't reset, but then as I pull away they do.

Tonight I was helping with the load-out of a ballet performance and I let the car idle for about 15 minutes at the loading dock while I loaded it and other cars. After driving for a few minutes, I noticed the trip A had reset. It now showed only a couple of miles, precisely the distance from the theater. Then, about 30 minutes later while unloading at the studio, I again let it idle for 10-15 minutes (it's 4 deg F here tonight, that's -15C for our Canadian friends). Once again, after I drove off, I noticed it had reset again. Now it was only a couple of miles from the studio.

This mysterious reset happened once a while ago too, but I didn't link it to a long idle, I just thought I somehow held the reset button down. But now I'm convinced it reset because of the long idle.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I have not had that but I will watch for it.
Mine resets like yours after refueling and it has always worked as expected but I don't think I've ever idled for 15'.
Now, was that the ballet, or "the ballet".
PS. Do you know Lucas Davenport?

Did you remote start it? I've had my remote starter trigger a reset odometer before.

Your Canadian friends are wondering why you need to let it idle on such a balmy day....just keep the windows rolled up.

I might have been the 'other post' with this issue.. Mine still resets randomly to this day. I haven't seen it happen with long idle, but typically on start up I'll notice it's at zero. Acura said my battery test failed, they replaced it (1 year old), but still does it.. This is a horrible example of a North American design/build of a car.. There are far too many problems with this car that Honda/Acura didn't use to have (replaced the manual tranny already, squeaks and rattles, shitty speakers that rattle, wiggly seats, creaking sunroof .. ugh.. I only have 40,000 kms on it.. )

My trip A would random reset when I had it configured to "reset upon fill up". Apparently this function does not work very well.

Mine is also set to automatically reset after refueling, although I believe you don't necessarily need to fill up for it to reset. Automatically resetting after long periods of idling is also a feature I've experienced in my 09/12'.
