I know Im new on posting, But I've been reading along for almost a year, and find that these cars are seriously reliable.

However, I have noticed that when shifting between gears, (automatic) that there is a faint shutter/hang up in the transmission. I will add that I have recently backed my driving down from shifting between 3-3500rpm to a 2500 rpm lighter foot...to save fuel....and my tires :-)

Do the newer TL's have trans issues like the good old 03 models?

I think it's been well documented that the 4th gen with the 5-speed auto (and even those with the 6-speed auto) do not shift very smoothly. My transmission often lurches and bogs down. I think it's an unfortunate characteristic of this car.
