Tpms light and dtc u0029
Hi Folks -
I have a 2013 TL with a recent issue. Car has high mileage but runs great and has been sitting for a few months. Recently <6 months installed new tires. I took it out yesterday and very quickly i noticed two things 1.) there was no pressure registering in passenger front wheel (checked pressure and it was good) and 2. I felt like there was a little more pulsing in the front rotors while braking. Not quite sure if it was different or me noticing because i haven't been driving it for a while.. Parked the car and drove about 4 hours later and TPMS indicator light came on and no pressure reading in any of the wheels. Got home later and plugged my code reader in and it threw a DTC code U0029 with notes: Vehicle Communication, Bus A Performance.
Has anyone had any similar experience, and do you know if the code and TPMS warning light could be related? Running in to a recent Tsunami of car troubles and really hoping this is an easy fix. Thanks in advance for everyone's input!

The inconvenient truth
10 years is about the expected battery life on the tire pressure sensors so it's pretty likely they need to be replaced. Exact same thing happened to me as you described. One tire wouldn't display pressure, other three were working. Next time I started the car the light came on and none would display pressure. Needs new sensors.

Yeah no idea hopefully it's just the sensors and not a seperate issue which it certainly could be as you noted having other issues. But either way you need new sensors to fix the tpms light.

Update
UPDATE:
So I took the TL in and had them scan the TPMS sensors and I did indeed have a bad RF sensor. I had it replaced and that seems to have resolved the TPMS warning light issue but I am still left with the U0029 code which states "Vehicle Communication" "Bus A Performance."
I am thinking that the two issues were unrelated and that I only stumbled upon the U0029 code because I threw my scanner on due to the TPMS issue. I will start to dive into this issue later in the week and share what I find. If anyone has any experience with this obscure code, please share as I would love to hear what you encountered and how you resolved the issue.
Dopeboy, thanks for your reply and help in resolving the TPMS issue.
