Tiny bit of chipped paint. Body starting to rust underneath

http://imgur.com/a/7nxQY

The paint chipped, I honestly don't know how that happened, probably while I was loading something into the trunk.

The body seems to be rusting in that part. What can I do to fix this, or stop the rusting process? It's a 2012 TL. Should I take it to a body shop, or can I try to do something at home?

A spot like that on the corner can be good and bad. Good that it is easier to hide (rather than in the middle of a body panel). Bad that it will take many layers of paint to fix. I would give it a try with a kit that includes the small wire brush (like "paint scatch"). Even if you don't get it 100%, you'll stop the rust.

Search, as I have seen someone post a pretty good tutorial on how to fix a scratch/chip.

Potz?

Yeah, the spot is so small, I don't mind at all about the paint. I just don't want it to rust out. I'll search around on here and find out what's the best point of action.

damnit.. i have the link on my home computer.. not at work.. ill post it up later.. but its pretty basic.

1.use a sharp blade to scrape off all the rust in that hole
2. clean it up with alcohol, make sure no dirt or chemicals are left over.
3. dab some oem paint (dont use paint pens, use the one with the little brush)
4. wait 15 mins, dab alittle more.. by the time it should stick up over and past your oem paint.
5. wait a few hours till its fully dry.. maybe 3 hours.
6. wetsand , start with high grit, 1500 then 2000, then 2500.
7. make sure the new dabbed paint is leveled with the oem paint.
8. clean it again really thoroughly.
9. wash and polish with buffer tool, do not use hand polish.

Thanks bro, you always have the best advice Haha.

I just called up my parts center and ordered a small canister of paint with the brush. I'll get all my supplies ready and read up more tonight. =)

you could barely see that but then again it is a one year old car to have any type of rust. If I was in your shoes I would take care of it with touch up paint
