Angry Sub installed and now steering doesn't work

So I finally had the sub I planned on having put in installed (stupidly on my part to have it installed by someone my friend somewhat knows who of course won't answer my calls or emails now) earlier today and I now have the "Check power steering system" error message displayed and the car won't steer in any direction. I'll be the first to admit that I know VERY little about cars but I'm assuming that he must have done something wrong and caused this problem (if anyone thinks it's a mere coincidence and the problem occurred because of something else feel free to correct me).

I'm driving a rental now because of the airbag recall so the installation took place in my driveway and I unfortunately didn't see the error message until after he left. It was dark by the time he left so I didn't really get to look at anything (not that I'd necessarily know what to look at anyway) but I did go back out to the car two times and noticed that the headlights did not come on the second time I unlocked and opened the doors like it usually would if that means anything...

So ultimately, what could possibly be the reason for the error message after having the sub installed and/or what should a noob like me check out tomorrow to try and diagnose the problem?

If push comes to shove I do have a warranty on the car (assuming they'd fix the problem) but I'm hoping it's something simple that was just left unplugged or something of that nature?...

Did he disconnect the battery when he installed the sub? Could be he shorted out the MB of the EPS.

a dealer warranty wont cover user error in installation.
also, it could be as simple as a disconnected wire.

you will need to bring your friend back and ask him to check his work.

Yes he did. I'm assuming that's nothing I'd be able to look at myself and find out?

That's what I assumed but was hoping against. But what kind of wire could be disconnected and/or where should I look?

The installer is supposed to be looking up some information and possibly coming to check things out but you can imagine why I don't necessarily want him near my car again.

because I'm familiar with what our engines look like, I can spot differences or notice un-connected harnesses.

unfortunately if you take it somewhere, they're going to ask you to pay $$$$$
to even look at the problem.

i'm assuming the 4G is EPS(electronic power steering) as mentioned above

Thankfully, one of the EPS connectors was unplugged and that fixed the problem. To say that I learned my lesson in regards to who does and doesn't touch my car from now on is a HUGE understatement.

Glad to hear it was an easy fix.
