Steering wheel sound

Hello,

I have a 2011 AWD tech tl, and recently I have noticed a clicking sound when I turn my steering wheel. I can also hear it from outside the car when I turn the wheel. The same noise also comes when I brake hard. Any help would be appreciated as to what the noise is from. Thanks

I'd check the CV joints.

With a ca with only 30K miles, you think that's the issue? Only hear when I'm idle and turn the wheel left or right half way.

he didnt pinpoint the issue, all he did was ask you to inspect them.

I also, think you should inspect or check the suspension.
see if you can see any torn boots, or anything that looks out of the ordinary.

have some one turn the wheel while you're looking

The boots don't always tear due to age so yes I'd check them just in case.

So the sound only happens when you're stopped but not while in motion?

You can hear it loud and clear when stopped from inside and outside the car, when in motion, you can barely hear it, but it's there.
