Hi Daygoballer00

I have a swishy noise in the steering wheel on my 2011 TL. I had the car at the dealer for this and some other issues and the dealer said this steering noise is normal and due to all the electrical contacts in the steering wheel/column.

All the other cars built have the same electrical contacts in the steering wheel, so why is the Acura noisy and those are quiet?

I am not happy about this, and I cannot offer as solution to this problem.

My rear seat does not squeak but I got odd noises from the engine while cruising at 50 mph, a drone, groan, clatter. Very annoying and loud enough to hear over the radio set at a reasonable volume level.
Again told "all the cars do this", BS!

I think there is a little give to the steering wheel, when pressure is put on the wheel it could be described as a scratchy noise I guess.. Try pushing somewhat hard on the wheel and see if its the sound you are hearing while driving. If it is, yours does the same thing as mine.

The swishy sound is normal.

Mine had an extra loud creak that would sometimes occur while turning the wheel. It had a defective slave cylinder which needed to be replaced. Thankfully under warranty.

man...that noise is soooo annoying. If I send a direct compliant to acura about this issues, may be they will do something about it.

If the electrical power steering is designed like this, there is probably not much they can do other than re-engineering it in future autos.

This is the conclusion I have arrived at as well. Engineering mistake.

Mine also "swishes," just a little louder than my previous cars. I turn up Boz Scaggs and I can't' hear it any more.
The rattle in the rear deck is a common problem with will documented fix.

What specific problems do you see with the G37? Sparx, any lag with downshifting between speeds of 15 to 10 mph before coming to a complete stop?

No lag.

Had a huge clunk and jerk with the Acura TL when it downshifted at 40MPH.

Sparx, how many miles were on your TL before you got rid of it, and did you have FWD or AWD model? Any other issues?

18K
FWD
Noisy whine in trans, odd groaning noise when cruising @50 mph, poor tracking down the road. Hard down shifts at 40 mph.

G37 is sweet but I still prefer the TL. Now the Q I'm interested in but not until prices drop... Congrats on the G tho, great driving machine and I know you got a killer deal on it with the Q hitting lots.
