So, I bought this car in May of 2017 (with 20k miles on it!), and in July of 2017, it started this. It's been doing it ever since, but by the time I get to a mechanic (even left it at one overnight) they can't duplicate it.

What happens: I get in my car to go to work or go home from work. I drive it about a quarter to a half mile, and come to a stop light (or a McDonald's drivethrough... because coffee.) When I'm stopped, I will hear a wobbly squeaking noise coming from the engine that sounds like belt noise. When I accelerate it will go away and once the car has been running for a few minutes, I don't hear it again until it's been off for a few hours.

What's been done: the serpentine belt has been replaced (quick $40, no biggie) and multiple techs have inspected my pulleys. (that sounds dirty.) But none of them have been able to hear or duplicate the noise, and the s-belt didn't even change the noise.

Any ideas? TIA.

 

more info: noise doesn't stop when I turn off the vent fans. Revving the engine while stopped doesn't effect it either.

Will try to get a recording this afternoon.

 

Is it squeaky noise or gurgling noise?
If it is gurgling noise and went away at acceleration, check your transmission fluid filter.. there is a TSB for that..
