Slammed into curb
Slammed into curb
Hi guys, I need some advice. A couple days ago I was coming home during some snowy weather and took a left turn a little faster than I should have and slid into a curb. My front right side slammed into the curb. I got out and looked and thank goodness there was no body damage but my front right rim looks like it has too much positive camber. The top is sticking out while the bottom is going in. After that my alignment is completely out and I got "Check VSA and Check Hill start assist" lights. I drove it to my mechanic the next day and while driving I can hear this screeching sound, almost like tire screeching. Anyways he took a quick look and said a number of components have been bent, but he didn't specify since he just looked at it on the hoist and didn't actually take off the rim. He was recommending I get a used suspension and replace it. What do you guys think? I know y'all can't be internet mechanics, but whats the worst case scenario here? What components would I be looking to replace in a situation like this? Any advice is appreciated. I will try to post a pic when I get home today.
There's a bit of damage that curbs can do to cars, bent lower control arm, tie rod ends, broken hub bearing, bent wheel, etc. Your best bet is to have a mechanic give you an itemized list of components that need to be replaced. I wouldn't drive it much considering you can do more damage since you are hearing that rubbing noise.
