damage from a curb?

So it snowed the other night...i was having some fun in the parking lot doing ebrake turns...long and short of it was that i found a "hidden" curb at about 5-10mph and hit it with my right front tire. It wasnt that tall, so no paint or body dings, but of course the alignment is tweaked a bit, the right front rim is about 1/2" further back in the wheel well than the left front, and the camber is definitly off. It's still totally driveable. I have an appointment later this week to take it in and fix it, but do you think this is going to be a <1000 fix or more? I am hoping the lower control arm bent before the subframe did....so maybe i could get away with a new lower control arm, rim, alignment, and maybe uppper C. arm....what do you guys think?

It will be expensive. I learned the same lesson when I was 18.

Lesson learned: Don't do stupid things in the snow unless you're sure what's around you.

I learned my lesson in a rental car.

You sound about right in your assessment though it's hard to know w/o looking. Tie rod is also highly suspect and I'd say more than 1K. It's also a front-wheel drive car, I won't even go there...

hitting curbs are pain in the ass. cost will depend on how you want your car fixed. if you just want it to make it drivable.. probably <1000 but if you want your car to be perfect again >1000!

just for anyone else searchin the forum....

937 bucks was the damage.

I told the guy it was perfect before i screwed it up, and i want it back the same way.

New lower control arm, take off rim (perfect condition), and the alignment including adjusting the cradle, overnighting the control arm, labor and tax. (that also included the 10k service in the price, so i guess it was probably 800 something for my stupidity).
