Rust,Rust and more Rust on Wheels
Good for you! Lately I've noticed that on my right rear, rust appears to have come back on the painted part (both my rears were painted by Acura of Boston on good faith). Investigating further, it was just rust "powder" being deposited over the painted hub. The paint is still good.
A quick rag to it cleaned it up. But, it raises an interesting point. The rust powder on it looked like someone took orange/rust paint and splashed it all over the place, including the interior of the wheel.
I'm going to wait until it rains again and drive it. Hopefully it'll rinse itself off. But let me tell you, it's butt ugly, worst that when before they painted it. It's definitely not brake powder.

I had the same problem with my rear wheels. I called my dealer in MD and they agreed to fix them at their cost. The appointment is next Tuesday and I will let you know how it goes. They also offered me a loaner car, which I think is very nice.
Problem solved!
They painted all the front and rear rotors for me although only one of the back wheels had the rust problem and it looks shining again! It's covered under warranty.
See whether this can help when you refer the rust problem to the dealership: Service Bulletin 411099 1.6

Just picked up a pre-owned (Man. Date 9/09) 2010 TL-Tech 6-Spd Silver, 12k miles. Love the ride. Hate that orange rust, which is covering about half of one front and one rear caliper. All rotors show rust right at the very inside of the rotor surface, where there is the water-thin silver paint. This rust looking through those big spoke gaps LOOKS LIKE CRAP!!! My business partner noticed this before he made it half way around the car. How do I spell EMBARRASSING!!!
Just got back from the dealer and have an appointment to drop mine off tomorrow morning and picking up a loaner. They are going to pull off the rears and brush them off and paint them.
Ill post pre and post pics once I get it back tomorrow.
