This happened to my car suddenly after being parked for a week outside. $100 later and I had a new trim installed. It's a terrible design. The glue only has a 1mm or less space to attach to the chrome underneath. I hated the whistling noise I was getting even after ripping the rubber off the factory trim hence the $100 bill.

Last week I noticed mine is starting to fail as well

Just had my driver-side replaced this morning for the very same reason (wear/tear). It is NOT a cheap part (>= $100) and my dealer charged me $90 to install.
