Rocker arm noise help!!!

I got a 2010 TL sh 6spd tech 3.7L, 135k miles, bought the car running great, did first oil change right before 3k miles, some tapping noise started, did some research and these motors require valve adjustment, went to my mechanic, he said it didn't sound like valves but he will open it up and check, called me back and told me rocker arms have play on the shaft and that's the noise, also said it's possible they had some thick crap in there so it didn't make noise at the time of purchase till first oil change, each rocker is $251 and there are 18 rockers, so 251x18=$4518 just in parts, not what I expected, anyone had any issues like this? What are my options other than 4500 rocker arms? Anything I can use to get rid of the noise?

if mechanical pieces have play, you wont get rid of the noise unless you change the bad pieces out.
you could fill it up with thicker oil again

^the european spec'd oil is thicker by nature. because it is spec'd differently than U.S. specs.

You could try a safe quick fix for noisy rockers. Any autoparts store should have Seafoam. Its an all around engine cleaner. You add the recommended .OZ directly to your oil and drive a few hundred miles, they should quiet down if they were just gummed up. I need to do this on my car, just going to wait until I am closer for the oil change and do it about 1000 miles before I'm do the clean out all the sludge.
