Propeller Shaft replaced twice!!!!
2009 acura tl awd 27000 miles
I had my propeller shaft replaced twice in two months due to high pitch noise...
three weeks later noise is back again. This will be my third time replacing it at dealership.....
any advice as what to do? Seriously, how many more times is this going to happen?
is my dealership really replacing the part or just greasing it up, and charging acura $1200 for each repair?
any suggestions?
thanks

If you think the dealership is not replacing the part i would obviously try another dealer, although i dont think they are screwing you around.
The prop shaft issue has been a big problem for Acura ever since SH-AWD was introduced on the 2G RL (2005). If you go to the RL forums you will see lots of people with similar issues and this includes the MDX also. The RL forums may have a fix for you but i have never seen one except to either keep greasing or replacing the part. Personally i would think its a design flaw because whoever produces the part for Acura should have been able to solve the problem by now, unless its cheaper for Acura in the long run to just keep replacing the part then to redesign the system in order to cure the actual problem.
A few years ago when I was looking at a 2010 TL 6MT i tossed around the idea of a 2005-2006 RL but was advised of the problems and here in Canada the fix was just under $2000 at the time.
If this is the 3rd one your replacing with that low of mileage i sure wouldnt want to own the vehicle long outside of warrenty, especially with all of the torque convertor issues the 4G is having also.
Best of luck to you!!

Dude... There's a recall I just got. I have a high pitched whistle from 15-50 Prolli higher. Only while on the accelerator though. They said there are 3 blots that need to be replaced or something. I'm getting it done next week. I'll let you know if that fixed my whine.

What makes this problem appear? Driving style, maintenance or just bad luck?
Thanks.
