Problem with rear deck vibration...
I was wondering if anyone else has had a problem with excessive vibration from their rear deck speakers when listening to CD's/etc? I never had any problems until the car was about 1 year old. I don't crank the volume too loud and I have since been disappointed in how annoying the vibration is.
I have the bass setting on 3 and the sub setting on 3 also (I feel this is middle of the road and not too excessive) and the center channel at -2.
I realize this problem will covered under warranty, BUT when I take it in to the dealership I want it resolved so I was hoping some of you who have had this problem had some advice on what the cause was and how it was fixed.
Thanks for your reply.

I'll be making my 3th trip back to a dealer sometime soon for this issue.
If it's not resolved I have 400sq ft of deadener that will be applied to the cabin which should quell all of these rattles/pings/vibrations.

I had this problem as well, very disappointing in a car of this price. I took it back and they removed it, reinsulated it, and reinstalled. No more noise.
Then I developed a noise in the sunroof area and driver's door. I think they had to remove so much that although they fixed it, new ones popped up when the vehicle is cold. Once it warms up inside, they go away.
I think the AWD suspension is just so tight, that it's really unforgiving in terms of panels touching panels.

I had this issue too. It definitely sounded like a blown speaker. I brought it to the dealer and they determined it was not a blown speaker, installed some dampening material around the speakers in the rear deck, and the problem was resolved. The guy at the dealer said that it is a common issue in the 2009-2010 TLs and they have lots of experience adding the dampening material.
Not always the rear deck...
I experienced some frustration with this as well. I have had three audio-related repairs done as well. First, a blown right front woofer had to be replaced. Then, I noticed buzzing from the rear. It was improved with the installation of sound-deadening material, but did not completely go away. In the end, I finally figured out where it was coming from... the panel covering the third brake light! After all, it takes the brunt of the SPL from the rear deck woofers. If you still have buzzing low-freq transients with your audio after ensuring all speakers are in good shape and the rear deck insulated, make sure you check this out. My dealer injected insulation into this area after tightening everything down and the audio now has the same beautiful tight bump it did on day 1.
