Passenger side mirror not tilting down.

So I noticed that my passenger side mirror has not been tilting down when I put my car on reverse. Sometimes it does but not right now. Anyone know what I should check?

thanks

The side-mirror tilting only occurs when the mirror position selector switch on the door is in either the right or left position. When the switch is in the middle position, there is no mirror tilting.

Yeah, check and make sure the mirror selector switch isn't in the center. Works for the right mirror too if the switch is set to the right.

Mine does not work sometimes even with the switch in the right position. A flip to the left and back to the right seems to fix it, ala reset Give that a try.

The switch can be in any spot, that doesn't matter. I had the same issue, just moving the mirror around with the switch fixed the problem. Then Push your memory setting button if you saved your position and you're good to go.

Both mirrors tilting down when it reverse is not designed to work on my car (2010 model- page 162 in the Owner's Manual). Perhaps this works on later model TL's?

For the 4G TL and most other Acura vehicles, only 1 selected mirror (left or right) will be tilted down when the tranny is shifted to Reverse.

It is false information that both (left and right) mirrors can be tilted down simultaneously.

Actually, it does matter...as others have noted.

If the switch is to the left then the driver's side mirror should tilt down when in reverse. If it's to the right then it's the passenger's side mirror that tilts down. When in the middle neither one tilts.

Thanks guys...figured it out after the first post. But glad I asked. Seems a lot of us didn't know this. I had seen it happen on my car but had not noticed the position of the switch.

Yes, but not when resetting the mirror, mine froze and wouldn't tilt down at all. I had to move the switch from the right and back to the right and move the mirror around, to get the function to reset. I was talking about resetting the mirror and assumed the OP had the switch to the right and was frozen also.

some one showed a diagram once, where they "technically" could bridge the two circuits.
I'm not an electrician nor do I play one on TV.
