Outside temp sensor location

Does anyone know where the outside temp sensor is located?

Is this something relatively easy to replace - or do I have to go to the dealership??

Thanks in advance!

Hey Shelly, I think the sensor is under the front of the car in or around the front bumper.

Hmm, that would explain why mine is off - I've "rubbed" my bumper on both sides against my dad's car... much to his delight, of course. My car took the brunt of the force (Jag vs. Acura = a win for the Jag), and I had to push my bumper back in, thank goodness my car is black. I couldn't tell what was behind the bumper, because of a plastic piece that covers the bumper closest to the tire. I'll have to have my dad check it out.

Thanks!

Behind the front bumper almost dead center (by front plate area). Can probably feel it if you just stuck your hand through the lower air damn and reach up if you have a SHAWD. Can probably see it from the engine bay by looking down as well.

How do you get the damn thing off? I got a new one and it's really awkward to get at.

350 is outrageous! Its a $15 part at most. Magna donnelly makes the sensor, but the mount probably is different from the Acura. The sensor are all the same for most cars. Its just a resistor in a plastic housing. It is not hard to install at all, if you can get at it. There will be a clip you will have to push on to remove it. You probably can see it looking underneath the car. You probably can get he sensor from a honda dealer cheaper.

The mounting is a small black square trim piece mounted on the inside of the bumper. The sensor itself has a slide and clip. If the clip part is broken, you can slide it onto the the mounting.

The clip that LNJ refers to may be "flopping and hanging" with the other piece. It's not uncommon to snap this piece off when removing the front bumper. I've done it twice in the past but it's nothing a little super glue won't fix.

If you don't see the piece attached to your bumper that it clips into, look for where it may have broken off and glue it back.
