When i start the engine, i heard a kind of clunk, it is hard to describe. That's happen many time per week. At beggining i though it was the air conditiong compressor, but i heard the noise when the air conditiong is of. Sometime the noise is very loud. Anybody experienced that. My dealer told me this morning, another customer made the same complain, but they don't have any clue what it's can be.

 

I think it is the ABS system check making that clunk

 

I do have the exact same problem but My dealer doens't know either what it is. If somebody finds the answer, please let me know!

happens to my car too but only when the engine is cold though. I think it would be a hard one to describe to the dealer let alone duplicate unless you were to leave it there over night.

 

Does the exhaust have a butterfly valve?

i think my 3rd gen had something similar to that. the dealership's conclusion was that it was from the computer's initial diagnostic when the car was first booted, if you will. computer checking systems, etc.. now that i think about, it doesn't make much sense; however, it didn't do anything to the car in-in of itself?

 

I have the same clunk pretty often but not always...quite disappointing, as it is in addition to many other problems with my 09 TL.

 

I've got the same issue....and also when shifting out of Park it Clunks too. Only seems to be when cold. Car is at the dealership as we speak. Let you know what they come up with.

 

My SHAWD just started doing this as well. Since I've owned the car (about 6 months) it's done it twice and only in the past week. Temps here have gone down to about 59F in the morning tho, so maybe there IS a correlation with this noise and temps...

 

my 07 did this on occasion when it was cold out, but not my shawd yet...
