my TL loaner

so this morning i dropped my 3g TL-s off to get some work done. They gave me a 4g TL as a loaner. i noticed when i press the fob to unlock or lock the car, isnt doesnt do anything(currently still unlocked). is it because the fob needs to be recharged? anyone know?

probably needs a battery but that would be odd as they should last two years at least.

I heard there is a TSB about this already with the 4G....j/k...lol...so what are your takes on the 4G TL's? I was next to a SH-AWD today and I've got to say it looked pretty damn good.

well my commute from the dealership to my work was less than 10 minutes..so far im not used to the braking since my tl-s has the brembos. steering seems very "loose" also. i'll drive it around more after work. i do like the back up feature with the lines showing you on reverse parking.

review of my 09 TL loaner:

-seats are very comfortable
-acceleration is not too bad
-brakes suck
-blown speaker in the car(although with a blown speaker, sound system seems better than my 07 tl-s)
-doors do not lock or unlock with fob, manually have to stick my key in the door to do all that.

Let me guess.... front right speaker was blown. Seems to be a common problem, just had mine replaced under warranty 2 days ago.

The FOB thing sucks. Wish you could have enjoyed the car without having annoying little things like that.

I do agree that the brakes could be a lot better.

the 4th gen has the keyless remote start which i wish the 3g tl/tl-s had! i hate our big ass key fobs..

it is the front right speaker that is blown also. haha

the rear view camera on the 4g seems very clear/crisp compared to my 3g. wonder if i can swap/replace the camera later on.

and yes the 3g stereo system is supposed to be great but it really isnt..starting to want to upgrade mine.

Not sure if you have used the back up cam at night but it picks up a lot more light than your eyes do. I notice that it looks very dark, but sooooo much brighter through the camera, and its not just the affects of the reverse lights.\

Remote start or push button start??

If you do, please find a windy road. You cannot get the full affect of the SH-AWD unless you put some stress on it. Normally I would just call it AWD but this really is super handling. If you dont have windy roads take turn onto a street at a good speed, youll feel the magic work lol.
