Loose Seat Anyone???

Loose Seat Anyone???

So I recently brought a 2010 SH 6spd and just started noticing when I switch gears that the driver seat moves a lot. It's more on the side of the seat by the door that feels loose. So I hopped in the passenger side seat to see if it would have the same play in it, it kind of does but it doesn't at the same time. I just wanted to know if anyone was having the same feeling or problem I would call it, should I be looking for a new driver seat or is there a simple fix remedy for this.

Are you referring to the bolts that hold the seat down? I didn't torque check those yet but I did shake the seat and see if there was play in it but there was none. Other than that I didn't get under the plastic yet. I was going to pull the seat out to give myself a better view but didn't get around to it yet because of the weather.

Yea I'm going to try that as soon as the weather is a little better and I can be out and do that. That's why I knew to ask the familia.

Dealer said I needed to buy a $1,200 frame assy. I said no thanks.
I am ready to do this job myself, but just curious if any went through it and any tips for success!

i haven't gotten around to pull my seat out either but I'm pretty sure EE4life has the best solution to fix it yourself. So as the weather breaks here I will be sure to pull my seat out and see hat I can figure out about it. I'll try to take pics of the process and write down some info on it if I can get it fixed myself if you don't get to it before me.

What EE4Life quoted is right, there is a TSB about that. A friend had the same issue with his TL, a '10 model, and his seat mechanism was changed under warranty. However, if I go back to my old '03 accord days that seems to have the same style seat mechanisms and rails, etc,... two rubber bushings that are part of the entire mechanism, one on each side. These go bad after a while. That caused my '03 accord seat to move back and forth a bit. Solution was to twist those rubber bushings 90 degrees and blast them with epoxy. Never had an issue after that. If I recall there is a thread at another forum, driveaccord.net, describing the issue and solution, go search to save some money, unless your warranty covers that one.

So I finally got a break with the weather. And was able to pull my driver seat out and start to examine the cause of my seat problem.
Front two bolts
Rear two bolts. Had to remove the plastic shields to get to them.
My problem was this screw wasn't in 100%. It's a bracket that pivots and connects to this star screw. It feel when I got seat out of car but then I found it and saw where it went then put it back together.
Had to extend the seat up before removing it so I could reach the screws.
Should be exposed like such to see everything.
Remove the plugs that power the seat. Located under the seat, once it's unbolted you'll see them.
The shield on the side of seat is just held on by tabs, so just lightly pull apart to expose the bracket parts.
The seat back assembled before placing back into car.

Great find! That's a much easier fix than the TSB I believe. Please report back and let us know after more use if you're able to confirm that's the cause.
