Any tips for this to not spread further? Can a leather expert fix this without replacing the entire panel?
This was just after I applied some leatherique. Feel like I noticed it more when I applied it since it's my first go at restoring the leather. The rest of the cars leather is in excellent shape but the seat is a bit worn.
That area is not leather but is vinyl with a cloth backing that it's glued to. The leatherique/cleaner can degrade the adhesive causing it to get worse.
2 solutions:
1. Upholstery shop will use some filler creme (will dry and match the vinyl) to make it look like new.
2. Upholstery shop will recommend replacement of the vinyl.
I had the same happen on the right side bolster and just put some clear packing tape so it doesn't catch on my jacket until I find a good shop to do the repair. A local one wanted $250 for the dang creme fix method which you can DIY (color may not match)
