Intermittent squeak post pad change
Intermittent squeak post pad change
Hi All,
I have a 2012 TL and I changed its rear pads a few weeks ago. I didn't notice anything right away, but over the last few weeks, I hear a squeal coming from the driver rear wheel. I thought it was just the new pads, but noticed that it didn't change one bit as I applied brakes or engaged ebrake. Took wheel off and the pads are touching the rotor and there there is slight warp in the rotor (I didn't change those) but again.....the noise is still there when braking. It's not constant and it speeds up and slows down with the speed. I can only hear it around 5 MPH. At highway speeds I hear a thump that I thought was a tire issue (same wheel) because that, too, synched with speed and not RPM. I thought, too, that it might be ebrake shoes....but, again....it doesn't stop when I drag the ebrake. Puzzling. Any ideas? I searched the forums before I posted, but couldn't find anything. I apologize if I missed something. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks! JW

Annoying Rattle from Passenger Seat -UPDATE
pulled the wheel and hub off. Parking brake assembly looked crooked. Thought some WD 40 and re-positioning would do the trick. But, same thing. I did notice, though that the noise was very pronounced when turning hard left going just a mile or 2 an hour. Turning right....no sound. Again, noise is coming from driver side rear. Any ideas? Wheel bearing?
Was it a constant squeal?
I have an 09 TL awd and put stoptech drilled and slotted rotors and posiquiet pads on it. The front passenger wheel squeals and i don’t know what else to do with this. It’s making me go crazy
