This is my first TL…and I just picked it up this evening.
I was in the back seat, and noticed that both reading lights on the roof did not work.
When I pressed the buttons, nothing turned on.
Any idea what is wrong? Is there a fuse to check? If so, where is that located?
Well if everything else works fine - including the front two reading lights, the vanity lights on the visor mirrors, and the trunk light, it may be a simple fix - they're turned off.
There's a button next to the front reading lights that controls them all. ON means all 4 individual lights will work as intended, DOOR means they'll turn on automatically when you open a door, OFF means the rear 2 light switches are deactivated. Make sure that's turned on.
I also vaguely remember having that problem and finding out the rear 2 only work when the headlights are on. I may be completely making that up, but try them with the headlights on as well if hitting the ON button up front wasn't enough.
If you're actually having problems with all of those other lights I mentioned, check fuse 16 (7.5 A) under the hood.

WOW! Thank you for the help. I had no idea. I have not gone through my manual yet.
I appreciate it...I will check that button, and report back.
OK disregard everything I just said . I just went out to play with the buttons myself, and some of that was completely wrong. I had the same problem you did - the rear map lights do nothing when you press the buttons.
ON makes all 6 of the lights turn on (2 front map lights + 2 rear map lights + 2 additional lights in front of the front map lights). You can individually turn off all 4 map lights, but not the 2 additional lights in the front.
OFF turns them all off, and the rear map lights are deactivated.
DOOR - weirdly - is the only way i could make my rear map lights work independently of everything else. It'll turn on all of the lights when the doors open, but it also allows you to control the map lights separately.
Turning the headlights on didn't matter, I could only use my rear map lights alone when the DOOR button was activated. That was weird. But thanks, I forgot how comfortable the rear seats are lol.
