Interior Leather

Is there any ways to make the wrinkles on the leather seats to go away?

Whoah...4th Gen with this problem already!?

I would HIHGLY recommend getting a decent leather cleaning and MAINLY conditioning kit and begin using it once a month religiously. Once you crease, you can only stop it from cracking, once you crack, ain't no going back.

Or, just replace with katskin leather in 5 years. If my seats get that bad, that's what I'll do. BUt my car is 8 years old now.

I regularly condition them and just after doing so will gently spread the wringles in all directions around them to smooth them out a bit. It makes a big difference but I don't see how they are totally avoidable.

Maybe there are better products out there that I am not aware of but I think that it is just a strong characteristic of Acura leather. I am not sure it is a wear issue, even when new, you sit in them for a bit and there are immediate creases. Doesn't look so great on black but doesn't look out of place on the lighter interiors.

I guess it's drawback of having soft, plush leather. That's not to say there is not better leather out there in the softer variety but I will take this over pleather or pigskin type rough surfaces.

Lexol makes a leather cleaner and a conditioner. I use both on mine, but so far, I have wrinkles showing up on my drivers seat left bottom bolster. I'll see how bad it gets, but I have been cleaning and conditioning the leather once a month, and its only been 5 months so far.
Maybe we can take pics and compare them to see how things are going with each owner?

I use Lexol, Zaino, and yesterday gave this Meguiars stuff a shot (was a creamy gel type of substance). All leave the leather feeling a lot more supple.

I use Zaino also. But as other said, we have real leather, and like on a sofa, you will have this effect. Only faulse leather won't do that. Like BMW 3 series without this costly real leather option

The Zaino products will help you clean the leather. Their Leather in a Bottle really, really smells fantastic.

yes by far the best leather conditioner ever made..

although it takes time to do, it is well worth it..

i have 17k on my car, and all i can tell you is it looks somewhat similar to when it rolled out of the dealer..

it puts the juices back into the leather so that it does not crack.. cracking is caused by lack of moisture in the leather, thus it dries and cracks.

I read a lot of places that leatherique was not the end all be all of leather conditioning. All mentioned above work well also.

I wouldn't mind giving it a shot though...if it will keep the leather supple, it's worth it.

This is how the center arm rest/console looks. I know the wrinkles are not that bad, but still bothers me. I am the kind of person where want things to be in perfect conditions all the time.

This is the side of the driver's seat. Bothers me a lot.

I use zymol leather treat.
great stuff, and it smells like bananas.
it also doesnt shine the leather up, it keeps it looking matte.

I treat my leather every 2 weeks, driver seat every sunday. When you get in and get out of this car you're putting your weight on the left side,...sliding in and sliding out it gets crushed. repeat this process a thousand times and you'll get wear. Nothing you can do can prevent it except don't have any weight on it. You clean/condition your leather to keep it hydrated and feeling nice to prevent cracking and peeling,...not to prevent wrinkles cuz it's almost impossible to do.

Real leather will do this. There is nothing that will prevent the "wrinkles" from forming, unless you don't sit on and stress the leather.

Exactly.

Haven't you guys ever owned a leather jacket for years and years? Same thing. Repeated use = Wrinkles.

+ 1, same for shoes. high quality shoes will have thin wrinkles, low quality leatger will have large one

and the pictures on leatherique website are spectacular but it s a lot of work done par specialist. putting some product under the leather, some filler, color products etc...

I drive my car everyday, usually running errands so I am in and out of it quite a bit. And during the day time it is basically outside. I condition the leather once a month using lexol products. The car is only 5 months old.

The Brits refer to these as "comfort marks" and they are unavoidable on real leather. I use Griots leather conditioner to clean and condition mine.

have the car reupholstered in pleather like the olden days.

That looks nice and stiff with no wrinkles for a long time...but it also feels that way.

I bought some leather conditioner and cleaner directly from Acura. It works well. I also have the inevitble wrinkles in my leather with it being my daily driver, but no cracks, and I use it probably once a month.

Not sure how much truth there is to it but the guy at my local dealer recommended it (of course), but he said to be careful because some automotive leather products have some chemicals in them that can actully pull color off certain fabrics onto/into the leather. The Acura endorsement is that theirs wont. Take that for whatever its worth, but with light colored leather I decided I'd be more safe than sorry.

Neither set of pictures looks like a problem to me. It's the way real leather looks as you use it. If you took it back to the dealer they might be nice to you, but I highly doubt they'd do anything for you.

it seems that it s true, i habe read a lot about that few years ago. something was coming back often, is that if you condion the leather too often, you could dry it out
