Instrument panel brightness button not working?

Hi everyone I just picked up a 09 TL and did read the manual but found nothing for troubleshooting regarding this is issue. I press the up or down buttons for the Instrument panel and nothing happens? it won't even show the adjustments on the multi info panel on the cluster. Does anyone know what can be causing this or a fix? I don't want to go to the dealer if I don't have to.

There are 2 brightness controls. The one to the left of the steering wheel is for the MID display and the other one is for the Navigation screen if you have the Tech Package. That button is below the big scroll wheel.

I don't have Navi and I've tried the left 2 buttons for the up & down adjustments and it does not do anything. Nothing about the settings will show up on the multi-function screen on the speedo cluster when I push the buttons. It must be a bad connection or bad part, I'm just trying to see if anyone else had this issue and had solution.

Sorry if this is a dumb comment but have you tried it at night and during daylight also? Have you checked to see if there is a fuse for that? Might be in back of owners manual?

Found out the switch was not plugged in all the way so I was able to get this taken care of this morning. I thought there would be a fuse when I checked first but it does not show one for the panel in the manual.

Thanks for your efforts guys.
