High Mount 3rd Brake Light bulb/unit replacement
I just noticed that left 4 of the 16 bulbs are dim when braking on the 3rd brake light (high mount). 1 or 2 on the right look like they're about to go dimmer as well.
Just to be clear, they still light up, but are not as bright as the other ones (i'll try to post a pic later tonight).
Does anybody know if this is covered under the extended warranty in Canada?
Can the bulbs can be replaced individually or is it an LED board?
The assembly PN is 34270-TK4-A01, but at $100-175USD, it's not worth fixing unless a third or half of the set are out.
I also came across this in the 3g section, not sure if it's the same issue or not, but it's definitely cheaper than $175.

Anybody experienced the same issue who can shed some light (no pun intended), it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Having issues with mine too. A few in the middle are not coming on, then the whole right side will fail. Wondering if my 2009 has same issue with the 3G brake switch. Will try the brake switch myself before trying a new high mount led lamp.

If you don't mind, please come back and let me know how it went if you get to it before i do. Thanks!

It sounds like the switch will definitely help your situation since the lights are dim but still turn on. A few of mine haven't came on in a long time so mine might be actual leds burnt out 😞

I replaced it with an oem part. I'll have to monitor it, right after install the whole high mount light did work properly, however, with some presses on the pedal some of the leds didnt come on. It is the exact leds that had the issue before. I took the car for a drive it has been working flawlessly since that. Fingers crossed!

It's been a few days now and the brake light switch doesn't seem to have fixed the issue. The 3rd brake light comes on fully only intermittently. There are still times it will have no leds light up in the middle part. I think I will try to replace the fuse next. If that fails then on to a new led strip.

Brake switch PN
Having problem of LEDs on the high mount brake light to lit a little, only noticeable at night .
Will try to replace the switch first.
Can anybody give me the PN for it?
Thanks

Has anyone fixed this issue? I have 3 LEDs in the middle that are completely out. The 3G guys have had success with changing the brake light switch but it sounds like TLTesh604 didn't have any luck with that.

That's what i thought too... but when i replaced my switch, it fixed half the lights that were out before. The initial half is still out.

idunno, i'm not an electrical engineer and only have BASIC understandings of a switch.
to me, when the brake pedal is depressed, it also depresses the BLS which completes a circuit activating the lights.
I've had a brake switch go out on me with a previous car and since it never completed the circuit, no lights!
